http://jrlive.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Jonathan Reuel's Earthquake Trees: Things I Make. Friday, April 11, 2014. Love, Take Me Home. Home is my theme for this year, thinking about it, reading, writing songs, drawing and hopefully moving closer to it - building better homes, appreciating the ones I've had and have. Along these lines, I posted a song called Love Take Me Home. Links to this post. Monday, April 7, 2014. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Love, Take Me Home. Jonathan A Reuel Blog. Earthquake Trees - Reuel: June 2014

Jonathan Reuel's Earthquake Trees: Things I Make. Monday, June 23, 2014. Listening to Music Now (Part One). I recently read an interesting post. Pulling back a little from our immediate situation, back beyond Youtube, before Itunes existed, back, back, back before surround sound, back to the invention of cds, back further to DAT tapes, cassette tapes, four tracks, quadraphonic stereo, vinyl, the first radio, first recordings. This has all changed in a just a bit longer than a human lifetime. I'm just a s...

Earthquake Trees - Reuel: Listening to Music Now (Part 3: Critics)

Jonathan Reuel's Earthquake Trees: Things I Make. Monday, July 14, 2014. Listening to Music Now (Part 3: Critics). Who tells you what to listen to . . . or guides you to places they've discovered? One thing Im noticing in my own experience of listening to music is that the wide availability of content and free access to it has gradually eroded genre boundaries as useful organizers. Ten or fifteen years ago I listened to radio in my car, and chose stations by genre as best as possible. Jonathan A Reuel Bl...

Earthquake Trees - Reuel: July 2014

Jonathan Reuel's Earthquake Trees: Things I Make. Thursday, July 17, 2014. This is a detail from a piece with the working title "Removing Art.". I've been thinking about how religious subcultures relate to art. One way, one phase, is removing it. This is sad. It can be devastating. It can be small minded and stupid, and often is. And it can also clear space for something different, something new, like forest fires re-calibrate local ecosystems. Is there a place for book burning? Links to this post. Here'...

Jonathan A Reuel: Songwriter for Hire: A Mask that Reveals
http://jonathanareuel.blogspot.com/2014/03/songwriter-for-hire-mask-that-reveals.html
Leadership and the Arts. Thursday, March 6, 2014. Songwriter for Hire: A Mask that Reveals. I write songs for people and organizations: a song for a spouse on their birthday, something for a grieving parent, for a friend who is getting married or graduating. Most recently I wrote nine songs for a network of people about the places they live and their vision to make those places better. When it works the person or group senses both the bones of reality and colors of transformation. My life as a landscape.

Leadership and the Arts. Thursday, July 10, 2014. Small and Cluttered Part Two (On Creative Leadership). At this point my top two (I mean 3.5) reasons for the "small and cluttered" aspect of my life are:. 1 A chronic lack of taking seriously the need for resource gathering and realistic projections about accomplishing projects (and more importantly) grander visions. (I'm working on this.). 3 Settling for small and acceptable outcomes rather than stretch goals. (This one I am regularly blind to.). Somethi...
