I am one of many. I am not alone. Together we're stronger. We're on a journey and all have stories, these are mine. Wednesday, March 2, 2011. I Thought it Would Get Easier. So I don't know why I thought this year would be any easier. Jonathan is a year older, a few inches taller, and more amazing than ever, but when I have to sit down and really think about it I can't help but hurt when I think about the issues he may have to face. I remember just how much I hate this f* %! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

I am one of many. I am not alone. Together we're stronger. We're on a journey and all have stories, these are mine. I've been asked a number of times, "How did you know? Or "What made you get him tested? Every time someone asks, I think back and try to pin-point an event or issue that could possibly have been the first sign. I guess I'll never really know for sure exactly when his little immune system turned on his pancreas, but in hind sight there are a few things I can't ignore. Telus WALK on Facebook.

I am one of many. I am not alone. Together we're stronger. We're on a journey and all have stories, these are mine. Wednesday, August 3, 2011. I haven't blogged since when? It is not possible that it has been three months since I last posted on here. Well, for those of you that thought I had fallen off the face of the earth - it ain't so. My mind may have, but I have been here all along. So being 10 minutes past my bedtime I'll do the super-duper coles notes (x18 = cliff notes) on the last 92 days. There...
Jonathan's Journey: John and Jonathan

I am one of many. I am not alone. Together we're stronger. We're on a journey and all have stories, these are mine. Sunday, March 27, 2011. John was diagnosed at the age of 14 while already playing football in eighth grade. In an instant it seemed to most like that was the end of his dreams of becoming a professional football player - not to John though. Managing his diabetes with multiple daily injections, he continued playing and received a scholarship to Utah State University. March 27, 2011 at 7:38 PM.

Thursday, October 21, 2010. I have sat down to write this post several times, yet I keep finding myself unable to put my thoughts together. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. I have been fortunate to have some wonderful mentors and advisers in my life. I have received. Guidance and counsel from my amazing husband, my family, my friends, my clients that I have been honored to attend, and the occasional unknown stranger with the right comment at the right time. I believe many of my most poignant realizations about myself and life have come from none other than my children. Farrier- not sure what that is? Sit tall in the saddle, Hold your head up high.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. A Late T1D Sibling Day Post. This post is to honor and acknowledge C. C is one of the most incredible humans I have ever had the privilege to love. He is probably the most simply complicated person I have ever met, and it is amazing to be his mother. He rounded out that day with a game of flag football and karate that evening. For the record, he comes by this trait honestly, he comes from a LONG line of pure stubborn. I think it manifested brilliantly in C). He is a ha...He wa...

Jonathan's Journey - Home
Teaching at West Nairobi School. While working at Liberty University in the summer of 2008, I was approached by the director of West Nairobi School in Karen, Kenya, to accept a teaching position there. A teacher had to leave unexpectedly, and they had an immediate opening and need. After praying about it, I felt that God would have me accept the position. That began a very busy time. I only had three weeks to accomplish everything and be on the plane! God blessed and I had a wonderful school year. Many o...

This is me PRETENDING to be bad in the Badlands 🙂 Actually, the Badlands were awesome. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. There were tons ...

My journey has only just begun...
My journey has only just begun. A chronicling of my journeys in Asia, my first excursion outside of the continental United States, and my stay at Hong Kong Baptist University. Anyway, the point of that digression was to lead into saying that I got lost as a result of taking that other trail. I just kept running though, following the power lines for a time (hey, they should take me somewhere right? Long story short, the car I waved down was driven by an amiable fellow named Gary who worked with tile and c...
