The Blogdens: October 2011
http://theblogdens.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
A blog about incidents and accidents, hints and allegations. Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Two weekends ago we traveled downtown to experience Occupy Salt Lake City. We made and brought signs and marched around busy intersections for a while. Leo enjoyed the chanting and sang along from time to time. He's very informed. And passionate about ending corporatism. And by the time we got back to the park, a brawl had broken out amongst the permanent campers. Pretty soon after that we headed home. And a train ride.

NasieGirl: September 2010
http://nasiegirl.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring? Saturday, September 18, 2010. I have been a bit of a slacker with posting my "September Favorites." Part of the problem was that my computer crashed and oddly enough it may take 30 days to create a habit but it certainly only takes one or two to destroy it. So here I am trying to catch up. I think some of these shots are worth the wait though. Why I love September Reason #5:. Why I love September Reason#6:. I have always been a fana...

The Blogdens: Happy Awkward Valentine's Day
http://theblogdens.blogspot.com/2012/02/happy-awkward-valentines-day.html
A blog about incidents and accidents, hints and allegations. Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Happy Awkward Valentine's Day. Today is the dreaded day of love, am I right? It's a day to not be quite sure how you feel, even if you do get roses and breakfast and bed (thanks, Jon). I mean, it seems arbitrary, right? The work of so many marketers, each one telling us how to treat each other on some random day mid-February. We dress in pink and glaze the day with sugar and sprinkles. Or should I go with the peacock?

ready steady: March 2010
http://cathryn8.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
The future has a way of arriving unannounced. Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Spring cleaning 2: teaching stuff (old post, revisited). I found, buried under a pile of posts waiting to be published, this little beauty from a while ago. It's funny to me to see which ideas I implemented and which I didn't. Misc Teaching Ideas (from Spring 2009? Put extra trash cans all over the room to cut down on notebook shreddings (hmm.not really feasible in a small room.but interesting. May have to try it.). Posters of "audienc...

Thmazing's Thutopia: 2014: Movies of the final quarter
http://thmazing.blogspot.com/2014/12/2014-movies-of-final-quarter.html
2014: Movies of the final quarter. It's only the end of the story; it has almost too many laughs. But Claude Raines is awesome. One of the great masked roles in movie history. And to see it for the first time big was lots of fun. Only 71 minutes (too short for proper character development by modern standards) but an enjoyable 71 minutes. Kid Auto Races at Venice. It How could they not? Was generic and derivative of recent premovie shorts. Disappointing. Why didn't we go see Boxtrolls. Wow I'd kind of dec...

Thmazing's Thutopia: I got an AML Award!
http://thmazing.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-got-aml-award.html
I got an AML Award! You may not have ever heard of them, but I have always wanted an AML Award. I wouldn't mind a Pulitzer or a National Book Award or a Daytime Emmy, but of all the literary/art awards in the world, the one I had most set my sights on was an AML Award. Someday, sometime, I would write a book or something that would capture the AML's attention and net me an award. Someday. And then, to my great surprise, last week I received this email (first paragraph only):. Of course, recognizing the e...

Considering how my Light is Spent: An essay, by any other name would still be as boring...
http://tblogily.blogspot.com/2010/01/essay-by-any-other-name-would-still-be.html
Considering how my Light is Spent. The self-styled ramblings of me, myself, and I regarding Life, Literature, Religion, and Politics. Sunday, January 31, 2010. An essay, by any other name would still be as boring. Looking back on the essay I'm not sure I did the opposing argument justice which more experienced debaters ( http:/ www.jonblogden.com/. For example) would be sure to point out, but it is what it is. If social customs and niceties can be put on or off like clothing, what makes us human? It is t...
