Always on my toes, rock climbing. Wednesday, December 18, 2013. What I've learn about dynos. If you follow me on Instagram. Or you read my previous post, Snap out of it! You know this week I have been working on dynamic movements. Here are a few things I have learned this week regarding dynos. Dynamic movements are tough because when done right, they are controlled. Now, I'll be spending my next visit repeating the route :) Keep practicing until it flows smooth. Do you have any special training tips?
On My Toes: Snap out of it!
http://onmy-toes.blogspot.com/2013/12/snap-out-of-it.html
Always on my toes, rock climbing. Monday, December 16, 2013. Snap out of it! Sometimes I get in a climbing funk. I feel completely uninspired to climb. More often than not when this happens, I’m frustrated with climbing and I end up pushing myself to finish routes, just to finish them. I angrily wonder,. Why aren't they fun? Why can’t I make that move? 8220;This route was made for me! Too quickly the climb is over and I’m pumped for more. That settles it, it was clearly, meant to be! 8221;, “this r...
On My Toes: August 2013
http://onmy-toes.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Always on my toes, rock climbing. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Why do rope bags have one strap? We recently purchased a rope bag for our new Sterling Rope (that we LOVE). One of our favorite places to go outdoor rope climbing is the exits - exit 32 or 38 in North Bend Washington. We don’t have a very long approach for either exit but our new rope bag is turning out to be less than desirable. On our second crag trip with the Edelrid Caddy rope bag. A rope bag with two straps - a backpack approach. Next I'm...

On My Toes: The biggest lesson I *almost* learned the hard way
http://onmy-toes.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-biggest-lesson-i-almost-learned.html
Always on my toes, rock climbing. Thursday, May 29, 2014. The biggest lesson I *almost* learned the hard way. During a partner belay check, do you check that their hair is pulled back away from their face and devices? After a successful send of a climb, I attached my personal anchor to the top and began to clean the route. I threaded the rope through my ATC (rappel device) and began to lower down. I was about 5 feet from the ground when a sense of panic rippled through my body. Rope flaked and ready?

Always on my toes, rock climbing. Wednesday, September 11, 2013. An iPhone app that allows you climb more and search less! In my last post. I was dreaming about guidebooks with GPS locations. The universe heard me and gave us one better, Rakkup! Rakkup is an iPhone application with turn for turn instructional guides and GPS locations. Oh and by universe I meant two awesome Seattlite climbers! Image from: Adventure Journal. We pack up our gear and head out the door before grabbing it! Once I do I'll creat...

Always on my toes, rock climbing. Monday, July 29, 2013. Climbing I love It. On My Toes - How I fell in love with rock climbing. I believe your first climb or two will determine your relationship with rock climbing. Either you'll love it or you won't. Ten minutes before we continued to our regular gym activities (probably to elliptical - snore). My next introduction to climbing however was the true start of it all. A college friend's cousin owns a climbing gym in Tacoma Washington called Edgeworks. Heave...

Jonie and Annie
A Glance At Our Life And Times Together: Jonie and Annie's Patchwork Quilt. Thursday, May 17, 2012. For my readers who may occasionally look at postings on this site, I filled it "to the max." I'm in the process of putting things together to print a second volume of writings, and more will follow. I'm not sure whether I'll leave this site with all the present postings, or if I'll delete everything and start again. I wish all of you my best. Monday, March 19, 2012. We really do become creatures of habit.

I created this site for two reasons. One to showcase my favourite photos and the second reason is for friends, family and my car club members to see what we have been doing and to look at their photos. I don’t believe in enhancing the colours or adding clouds, sunlight effects and the like. All of my photos are 100% natural and untouched. I currently own The Cartridge Warehouse which keeps me off the streets and very busy. The Karma bus goes around in circles you know. Welcome to jonclifton.com.

Jon Clinch @ Work
Jon Clinch @ Work. I've recovered the rights to my much-praised first novel, FINN. Watch it come back to life here. Alas, as Calvin Trillin once wrote, the shelf life of a book is somewhere between that of milk and yogurt. As a result, I’ve recently been able to recover my rights to the novel and will be publishing my own improved and expanded version soon. This blog will tell the story. Thanks for reading. J.C.'s Sunshine and Rainy days
JC's Sunshine and Rainy days. This is a blog about good days and bad days. We all have them.this just explains and tells about them. Saturday, February 21, 2004. Why in the world are teachers this way. When we are in school eight hours a day. Yet with all that time they just can't seem. To allow us to learn without being mean. And giving so much stuff to do. Over the weekend and at night, yes it is true. Some people say "they don't think we have lives". But I just want some sleep, and not to be deprived.
