Poulet - Nonsense from the Chicken Ranch: January 2013
http://poulet82110.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 29, 2013. There are two versions of French. There is standard French which I do not speak well enough to hold a conversation in any depth. Then, having explained that fact to French people, there is the other version which they speak to people like me who have explained that they do not understand French very well. It uses the same words, syntax, pronunciation and stresses, may be spoken in dialect, is usually delivered at speed and is just as incomprehensible as ordinary French. Of cour...

Poulet - Nonsense from the Chicken Ranch: February 2013
http://poulet82110.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 25, 2013. How the mighty are fallen. Another bit fell off Brighton's West Pier during recent storms. I thought I'd drive by and take a last look at the crumbling Victorian relic before it disappeared altogether. As I watched, the starlings started to gather. They stopped gathering almost immediately, maybe it was a starling bank holiday. No one thronged the beach or the promenade to watch this minor murmuration. Just me and a couple freezing their arses off on the beach. La vie en Poulet.

Poulet - Nonsense from the Chicken Ranch: March 2013
http://poulet82110.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 25, 2013. I ought to change out of my work shoes when I come in from traipsing around the estate. I really should as they tend to shed mud all over the floor. But I can never find any nice, comfortable indoor shoes. I have some, but they tend to disappear as soon as I take them off. Today I came in from the great outdoors to find this:. I think someone maybe trying to tell me something. Labels: La vie en Poulet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Email new blog to me. Web Sites worth a look (maybe).

Poulet - Nonsense from the Chicken Ranch: I Wasn't There - Cashing Out

Sunday, February 23, 2014. I Wasn't There - Cashing Out. BBC Radio 4's Saturday. Live used to have a slot titled ‘I was There’ featuring interviews with people who were at auspicious events, had brushes with royalty and the like. My contribution to such a series would be more likely to reflect a number of notable occasions I missed:. In 1985 I went to see a touring production of 'Pump Boys and Dinettes'. The cast included Paul Jones (no relation, but a source of constant confusion. Or Wayne in Auf. Meanw...

Tuesday, May 28, 2013. The Chelsea Cabbage Show. There is a backstage 'best garden' competition for Chelsea production folk. Last year Herb won a Silver medal for his Safety Garden. This year's brief required "Innovation, Sustainability (liquid) and the inclusion (this year only) of fantastic creatures OTHER THAN GNOMES (which the judges feel have been rather overdone)". Again the garden was inspired by Herb whose cabbage plants provided the central theme. The Bait (and sustainability element). In the ea...
