Jon in Chiang Mai. Fredag 23. april 2010. Fitting at the tailor went well, the suits should be done by Sunday afternoon. Went cruising to the south of Chiang Mai today, through fields and rise fields, into the mountains, along rivers and through nature, quite beautiful. I read in Aftenposten that Norwegians are adviced not to go to Bangkok due to the protests. We see none of that up here, so no worries. My landlady told me that it's supposed to rain tomorrow, that should be a nice cool break from the sun!

Jon in Chiang Mai. Fredag 9. april 2010. Visited Bon Sang this morning, a few kilometers outside Chiang Mai. Bon Sang is the umbrella capitol of Thailand and is known for its hand-made and hand-painted paper/silk umbrellas. I think maybe the small paper umbrellas that you get with drinks were modelled after the Bon Sang umbrella! I drink water and ice tea all day long, but don't go to the bathroom because I don't have to pee, that's how hot it is!
