Joanna's Blog: Watercolor Alphabet
http://jools2.blogspot.com/2015/08/watercolor-alphabet.html
Saturday, August 08, 2015. I've been enticed to take many classes with Skillshare. And this is one of the latest. A simple exercise in water-colour to create an alphabet and vectorize it in Illustrator. I never tire of seeing the capillary action of water-colour so creating this two tone alphabet was a fun diversion. Posted by Joanna Olson. Beautiful result. Thanks for the Skillshare link. It looks really interesting! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Instagram! Everything else I love to do.

Never really pursued this type of art making. I did do some illustrating in the late '80's and early 90's. Courses from Lilla Rogers. A series of assignments over a six month period to hone the skills needed by an Illustrator in the 20th century. And who knows.maybe even be represented by an agent. Posted by Joanna Olson. Joanna's Blog: Older Work, New Inspiration
http://jools2.blogspot.com/2015/08/older-work-new-inspiration.html
Wednesday, August 05, 2015. Older Work, New Inspiration. Probably about five years ago I did a series like this of acrylic on water-colour paper with Prismacolor pencils for details and a slightly abstract background. My go-to medium is usually oil for framed paintings and water-colour for illustration work but I think I'm ready to go back to using. Posted by Joanna Olson. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Joanna's Blog: April 2015
http://jools2.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 03, 2015. It feels good to be painting small formats again. I've been doing more watercolor/calligraphy/illustration work lately. As it happens I am having major renovations (upstairs bathroom and bedroom) at the moment. So I find myself gravitating to my comfort zone while all the noise and chaos goes on upstairs. Joanna's Blog: May 2015
http://jools2.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. I was about to say I'm challenging myself to paint metallic objects. But it really isn't all that challenging. If you just get the contrasts right, getting a metallic sheen isn't that difficult. I've set myself up to paint a few more. It's really quite fun. Posted by Joanna Olson. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
