Shelter - The Journey to Nunavut . . . Wouldn't that be fun? She said . . . This is our story. From Ontario to Nunavut. Thursday, June 24, 2010. It was . . . . an experience. I don't believe in public slander and there's never any real reason for burning bridges so, I'll just say this: I left on my own terms and I have no regrets. It'll cost you at least two drinks if you want the rest. My short term goal is to try and change Townie Bastard's opinion of the Post Office by the end of 2010.

Shelter - The Journey to Nunavut . . . Wouldn't that be fun? She said . . . This is our story. From Ontario to Nunavut. Monday, February 27, 2012. About a year ago, Steph and I "bit the bullet" and decided to become members of The Frobisher Bay Racquet Club. We had talked about it over the course of last year but waited out to see if it would fit our lifestyles once we were more grounded here in Iqaluit. We'd heard it was crazy expensive. We heard it was a "white supremacy". We heard it was "cult like".

Shelter - The Journey to Nunavut . . . Wouldn't that be fun? She said . . . This is our story. From Ontario to Nunavut. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. The Hotel industry up here is as competitive as anything you'll experience. There are 5 main places to stay:. The Hotel Arctic (Formerly the NOVA INN). I've stayed or spent time at all of them. When we first moved up here we had the "privilege". I'd be lying if I said that the quality of all the hotels is close. It's not. Customer service and what it means ...

Nunavut Newbie v.2.0: Iqaluit Newbie. A journal that will hopefully help out anyone who is thinking about moving to Nunavut or anywhere in Northern Canada. Saturday, July 24, 2010. Back "Home" Part 1: Leaving. Well, I have arrived at my new southern home for the time being. I had already done quite a bit of packing and throwing things out before Anthony arrived so the only things left to do were the end-of-the-line stuff. It was hectic trying to remember to do everything and clean everything. All in all,...

http://marlapeter.blogspot.com/2009/11/so-before-i-dive-into-describing-our.html
Petes Place and Marlas Musings. Sunday, November 1, 2009. So before I dive into describing our journey to Iqaluit, I want to send out a bunch of kudos and good karma to those people who launched us on this journey. Prior to us leaving Vancouver and on the last day at VGH, the crew on the Spine Unit at VGH sent us off in style at the Cascade Room on Main. Marla and I were overwhelmed and speechless with the outpouring of good will and good vibes from all of those that attended. It will be much savoured.

Petes Place and Marlas Musings. Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Prep and purge continues. Well we are still purging. We have been fortunate to sell some things on Craigslist. Mixed feelings because at the same time it feels great to be purging. I feel that there is this invisible burden/load of stuff that is slowly disipitating. It will be great to have less stuff. Things are becoming more real for Iqaluit as we now sleep on an inflatable bed among a scattering of remains of our former apartment. It was the f...

Sunday, April 1, 2012. Can someone recommend a better photobook website? I need something that shows accurate print previews. I've had a couple recommendations for Shutterfly because apparently their print preview is quite accurate. Costco's is not! I wish their print preview was accurate! I know I have a very limited audience on here but has anyone, by chance, ever printed a digital scrapbook in photobook form? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Jordan and Stacey Peterson. It was the first time I'd watched the Oscars alone in years. Steph had to work. I followed the skyline to find it interrupted by a raging inferno. White Row was on fire. In less than 12 hours there were plans in place to help the survivors. Donations were overwhelming and the contributions are still continuing 4 days later. We the musicians, have already...About...

Lucy is all sugar and spice, especially when it comes to her baby sister. She is still learning how to play with her, but I think that she means well, at least most of the time. Little miss Lucy has taken to doing he own hair in the mornings. Movie night with some friends! Lexi has this crazy notion that she belongs in our bed every morning.
