Jordan in Uruguay

Saturday, October 18, 2008. So, we're back home in Montevideo, and Spring is in the air! The tree-lined lanes are green now, and the city is becoming more beautiful! Tonight we made Thai fried rice and Panda Express style orange chicken (although we had to make up the secret recipe Orange Chicken Sauce)! More importantly, we're back safely from the trinational area of Iguassu Falls! We visited both sides of the Falls themselves, and then ventured into Ciudad del Este, Paraguay! Sunday we toured the Brazi...

Jordan in Uruguay: August 2008

http://www.jordanrlowe.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 29, 2008. So, this is my first blog and I'm already behind. 3 days behind. The flight was fine, long. like 14 hours long if you count our time in Miami. Our flight to Montevideo was not full so we could spread out a little before we landed on the 28th without much sleep and in a light rain. 2073 Colonia, Montevideo 11000. We returned to our first long siesta! It's late, and I'm going to post pictures of Flickr later (www.flickr.com). I'll update my blog when I do that.

Jordan in Uruguay: September 2008

http://www.jordanrlowe.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Montevideo vs Buenos Aires. Today we took a guided bus tour of Montevideo to compare to our guided tour of Buenos Aires. Our conclusion is that everything that Montevideo has going for it is bigger, better, and flashier in Buenos Aires. Everything except the Chivito (the Uruguayan hamburger) of course! Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Class Schedule and update. Sunday, September 14, 2008. Buenos Aires and Soccer. We enjoyed live music that was half the best of the 70s-90s and h...

Jordan in Uruguay: Finally an update

http://www.jordanrlowe.blogspot.com/2008/10/finally-update.html

Friday, October 10, 2008. Wow, sorry it has taken so long to update. Since we toured Montevideo we have been to the Japanese Gardens here, we've visited about 10 museums, and Earl had his birthday! We all, all 14 of us and Mrs Walker, knocked on his door at midnight and poured confetti all over everything! For his birthday we had a toga party (ACU appropriate of course) and I went to a club for the first time! As far as the graffiti, it's mostly really cool. I have some great pictures however of Geor...

The Adventure of a Lifetime: March 2009

http://laurenstevens.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

The Adventure of a Lifetime. My journey studying abroad in Oxford, England. Monday, March 23, 2009. Another Week in England. The fact that we still are clueless as to why or how the stones are there is fascinating. Here are some photos from this past week:. Our beautiful tea spread. All dressed up for high tea. How did these get here? Saturday, March 14, 2009. Our last place we stayed was Florence, Italy.  Such a pretty city! 160;Here are some photos:. A snuck picture of David . At the top of the Dome.

The Adventures of a Traveler: October 2008

http://theadventuresofatraveler.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

The Adventures of a Traveler. Thursday, October 30, 2008. Before We Head to the End of the World. I need to update you on the past two weeks, as promised! First, I want to mention something about Brazil that I forgot to put in my last post. In Brazil the main language spoken is Portuguese, so it was strange to suddenly be in yet another. Country where we didn't know the language again! Talk about getting your languages confused! Anyways, last weekend Jordan, my roommate Alex, and I went to Piriápolis!

The Adventures of a Traveler: Two More Weeks...

http://theadventuresofatraveler.blogspot.com/2008/11/two-more-weeks.html

The Adventures of a Traveler. Thursday, November 27, 2008. It is so hard to believe that we now have less. Than two weeks here in Montevideo. I'm excited to come home and see everyone, but I know I'm going to miss South America a TON. People here have been getting ready for Christmas for the past couple weeks, which has felt so weird since it is now summer here. And it definitely feels like it! Speaking of, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone back home! I know there were a lot of things I was planning on writ...

The Adventures of a Traveler. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Of Excursions and Birthdays [Catch Up Post]. Sorry it has been so long since I wrote in this last! A lot has been going on. Which also means that if I don't update this now, I'm never going to be able to catch you all up with everything. I'll try to cover all the major things that have happened since last time I posted. Buenos Aires was incredible in itself. It is called the Paris of South America and with good reason - it is HUGE. I thou...That ...

The Life of a Crazed Nurse in Training: Journal # 5- Nothing exciting...

http://thelifeofacrazednurseintraining.blogspot.com/2010/07/journal-5-nothing-exciting.html

Sunday, July 25, 2010. Journal # 5- Nothing exciting. When you are thinking about having surgery what is something that you as a patient look for: Credentials for your surgeon? Where the surgery will take place? How about a small building connected to houses, how does that sound to you? Are these surgery offices licensed? The fact that they are in those places while yes they are accessible to the general public makes me question how good they are and how clean they are. “They just seem like bac...I wonde...

The Life of a Crazed Nurse in Training: August 2010

http://thelifeofacrazednurseintraining.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Well we are officially a week and 1/2 into my last semester of nursing school and I can say with confidence that I am stressed. I never cease to go crazy the first 3 weeks of school when they over load you down with everything to expect throughout the semester, the quizzes, tests, assignments, and projects, but for some reason this semester seems a little different. Hopefully they will go smoothly and we can get this semester going. Saturday, August 21, 2010. Once again school i...

The Life of a Crazed Nurse in Training: Journal # 6

http://thelifeofacrazednurseintraining.blogspot.com/2010/07/journal-6.html

Monday, July 26, 2010. Here is another journal for class for Diane and Susan. It is an observation from Dublin and how it relates to health and healthcare. Who would have thought that Dublin would have been a place that you would have run into more smokers than London? After spending 2 weeks in London I thought it was the 2nd smokiest city that I had been to, only to Paris. That was until I went to Dublin. You have been to our town, havent you? The Adventures of a Traveler: ¡Brasil!

http://theadventuresofatraveler.blogspot.com/2008/10/brasil.html

The Adventures of a Traveler. Monday, October 27, 2008. I think all my posts on here are going to end up being long ones. I really should start updating this more often. This post, however, will only be about Brazil. I'll try to update again soon with everything that has happened since then. Two weeks ago we all went to Iguazu Falls, Brazil for the week. It was such an amazing trip! Brazil is beautiful. At times we were literally in the rain forest, it was so cool! We were told the saying that, "Argentin...
