Despite the brouhaha over the iPhone 5, I'm still pretty satisfied with my Samsung Galaxy S3. No doubt the iPhone 5 is a nice device and it will delight millions but it's not going to kill off Android or Samsung just yet. OK, though this is good advice for most casual users, it's not always practical. I need a Windows 7 machine so that I can test websites in Internet Explorer 9, for instance. Other people have to run business software that's Windows only - although you might be able to run it under Wine. If in doubt pick Avast.
