We are still waiting for the Colombian government to approve our paperwork so it can be sent to the orphanage. I guess I am going to learn PATIENCE. He looks sooooo sexy. This week: ship dossier to Colombia. Next week: In country team receives dossier, reviews it, and take to the translator. Last week in February and First week in March: Dossier is translated. Two weeks into March: Dossier is legalized at the ministry of foreign affairs. I can not even believe it myself. San Francisco October 07.

And now that we've eliminated dairy and gluten from our diets the challenge is to find great substitutes. Because this recipe has so much dairy in it, I was afraid to cut it ALL out for fear that it wouldn't have enough flavor but I think it's totally doable and I will definitely try it next time. Monday, October 8, 2012. The Pacific Coast Highway. We first decided we needed to take this trip several years ago before we knew we were moving to San Francisco. I even bought a PCH guidebook before we moved to SF. Coincidentally, that was long enough ago that I forgot I bought the guidebook and still haven't used it. Brent Jared Batman = happiness. Sunday, July 28, 2013. We had a great time visiting the OKC Couchmans earlier this year. It was our first trip to Oklahoma City so we tried all of Bryan and Jill's local favorites and had some good quality time with the fam. I think everyone's tweeting about how much fun we were having. Bryan had a lucky night at the Casino. The rest of us were praying for the gamblers souls outside. We had some good ole' fashioned fun! You're never too old to play on the playground! Sunday, April 22, 2012. We are all so excited to meet the first grandchild/great grandchild/ nephew to our family! He's a lucky little boy because he might even get fireworks on his birthday (July 4th). What a cute family pic! I'm already super obsessed with him. Katy is also lucky because she will have lots of free time because when I meet this little guy he will be with me every second. Aunt's are allowed to be baby hogs right? I can't believe I'm old enough to be an aunt! What will they think of next?

Sunday, August 18, 2013. Well it happened. I turned 30. On the plus side we spent the day in Napa Valley. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Perfect weather to celebrate my birthday. If you're ever in Napa, I highly suggest checking out the donuts at Boon Fly Cafe. I haven't had a full meal there yet but I'm sure it's good too. Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Catching up here on some end of summer/fall happenings. We've recently celebrated our two. Anniversary of being California Couchmans. Crazy! It is starting to feel like home :/. Brent was asked to contribute to a fundraising event called "I Don't Believe In You Either", with proceeds going to 826 Valencia. If you don't know much about this charity you should read about it. And, if you visit SF you should definitely stock up on pirate supplies at their pirate supply store.

Sunday, November 3, 2013. Some friends of ours are starting a little letterpress shop just across the bay in Oakland. To get the word out they've collaborated with a handful of designers, Brent being one, on a series of letterpress prints which they are selling on Kickstarter. The theme for the series was Oakland so each designer selected a different landmark or idea centered around that. Brent did an oak tree (which is obviously what Oakland is named after).
