The poetic musings of a Existential, Transcendental Romantic. Sunday, April 13, 2014. When I was a teenager, I belonged to this lovely organization in my church called Young Women. Eleven feet long, covered from ceiling to baseboards with these little handouts. I was a Young Women NERD. And in that moment, I desired to lead a group of Young Women myself some day in the future. Today is that day. I feel very lucky to have had the amazing influences of older women in my life through this program. Each ...

The poetic musings of a Existential, Transcendental Romantic. Wednesday, August 13, 2014. My Rights as a Woman. A little while ago I saw a TED talk about women in the workplace. The woman giving the talk shared a bunch of facts. I can't remember the exact numbers, but it was something like 15% of all executive level jobs are held by women. Which is not enough. Because I don't want to be an executive. I don't even want to stay in the workplace for longer than I have to. What happened to that? Absolutely n...

The poetic musings of a Existential, Transcendental Romantic. Saturday, October 5, 2013. Why I am So Happy! You all thought this blog was going to pine away in wake of my Scotland blog, didn't you? Never fear. This is still the foremost place that I will publicly express philosophical and psychological theories, as well as personal and spiritual experiences. :). So last weekend I went to the Preston Temple for a YSA convention. Trivial details of the convention can be found on my other blog. You are very...

The poetic musings of a Existential, Transcendental Romantic. Wednesday, July 6, 2011. June 25, 2011=Crazy. So I meant to write this sooner.once again I suck at this updating thing. But here it is. JoNeale is super chill and not into formality so they weren't taking pictures for very long. Since I had pressing matters to attend to, I only stayed to take lots of pictures of JoNeale and her family and one of us together. :). We talked about getting our vaccinations, planned out our service to two Peruvian ...

The poetic musings of a Existential, Transcendental Romantic. Monday, July 15, 2013. Why Glee Has Changed My Life. In light of the death of the actor of one of my most favorite characters on Glee. I've decided to finally write the blog that ennumerates why I love Glee. And why I think I needed it in my life. For those of you who are haters, please stop reading now, and I don't want to hear your opinion. Thank you! Taught me to stand up for myself. Showed me how to forgive and move on. You, and everyone a...

The poetic musings of a Existential, Transcendental Romantic. Friday, December 13, 2013. Today, I took on a new role in my life. That is the role of Aunt. My little sister had a daughter today. 8 lbs, 5 oz. 21 in. I hope my niece is happy with her choice of an aunt (well, all six of her aunts, just on my side). I want to do my best to make her happy about it. Hopefully she likes the very Scottish Christmas present I got her. :). Here is a picture of my mom holding the baby:. Posted by Miss Laura Whitney.

The poetic musings of a Existential, Transcendental Romantic. Monday, July 14, 2014. Exes are Not the Spawn of Satan. Recently a cultural norm has come to my attention and it is greatly troubling to me. It is this: you go through a break up, then everyone in your sphere assumes that your ex is a psycho (usually geared toward female exes) or a douchebag (usually geared toward male exes). Or a number of worse euphemisms. Point is, I think this is sad and harmful. That's no one's fault, it's just life. ...
