An American in Pusan: Happy White Day (화이트 데이)!
http://josephineellahesse.blogspot.com/2011/03/happy-white-day.html
An American in Pusan. Tales from the Republic of Korea. Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Happy White Day (화이트 데이)! Ben, Kelli, Nicholas and Eli. I think your White Day is way more realistic than our Valentines Day. Women build it up hoping their others will remember/want to buy them something. Then the day rolls around and they are dissapointed that they forgot or didnt want to buy something. It is much more realistic to think of the woman buying the man gifts. March 15, 2011 at 3:51 AM. United States of America.

An American in Pusan. Tales from the Republic of Korea. Sunday, March 27, 2011. Finally, A Room With a View! Sunday, March 20, 2011. Funny English that is Funny and Not Actually Fun. Every now and then, I see some English that is just not correct or is a bit strange. One night, I took several pictures inside E-Mart. Since those pictures were taken, they have changed the signs to better labels. In addition, they also added Japanese to them. I had never thought of this term for what they were selling. ...

Chronicles of a Medical Education: Lesotho, Day 2: Let the Work Begin
http://lisabethmd09.blogspot.com/2013/09/lesotho-day-2-let-work-begin.html
Chronicles of a Medical Education. Always a student of medicine, no longer a medical student. Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Lesotho, Day 2: Let the Work Begin. Today was the first day of the PDSS, and busy. I started the day with a run, which was pretty difficult considering the elevation and the fact that the hotel is located on a pretty substantial hill. I didn’t manage three miles, but I was happy(ish) with what I did get done, considering the factors at play. View of the Barracks from the road. Lesoth...

Today was, with any luck, my last day at Kitona Military Hospital. Hopefully forever. Seeing a patient with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Chronicles of a Medical Education. Always a student of medicine, no longer a medical student. Monday, September 23, 2013. DRC, Day 9: Back in Kinshasa. Today was a ridiculously long day. The doctors lined up for inspection. MAJ Lang briefing BG Moustafa. In other words, he didn’t want to take responsibility for the problems. The shrimp was good, though. Ugh Makes me really hope the job at USAMRIID at Ft. Detrick can be mine next year. Location: Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. After the walk, ...
Chronicles of a Medical Education: DRC, Day 4: Evaluation of the Hospital
http://lisabethmd09.blogspot.com/2013/09/drc-day-4-evaluation-of-hospital.html
Chronicles of a Medical Education. Always a student of medicine, no longer a medical student. Wednesday, September 18, 2013. DRC, Day 4: Evaluation of the Hospital. It was back to Kitona Referral Hospital today, for the first full day of the medical engagement of Operation Lion Rouge. It was exactly as I remembered it—the good and the bad (but mostly the bad). We ended up finishing early (MAJ Lang was doing an environmental/sanitary assessment of the base while I was at the hospital), and then headed bac...

Chronicles of a Medical Education: August 2013
http://lisabethmd09.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Chronicles of a Medical Education. Always a student of medicine, no longer a medical student. Friday, August 23, 2013. Not much has been going on at work since my last post. I mostly sit in my office, working on one thing or another for the medics, taking care of people's stubbed toes, and getting annoyed when things happen without people telling me (which is often). Our first group of graduating medics. Not a picture from our group, but practicing intubations is part of ACLS. PALS is pretty much the sam...
Chronicles of a Medical Education: DRC, Day 1: More Travels
http://lisabethmd09.blogspot.com/2013/09/drc-day-1-more-travels.html
Chronicles of a Medical Education. Always a student of medicine, no longer a medical student. Sunday, September 15, 2013. DRC, Day 1: More Travels. I didn’t write anything yesterday, because as far as I’m concerned, yesterday and today are the same day. I guess that’s what happens when you travel through the night and only sleep in airplane seats. Three African airports. Yeah, let's go with the African luggage security system of plastic wrap. Zebra pelt, anyone? I went and got a massage (because, why not?

Join the fight, bite back! May 9, 2015. May 9, 2015. I am fully aware I am bombarding blogs as of late. The ability to write has really helped me focus and channel energies in to an outlet as opposed to venting anger, though, so here’s one for today. Should we allow these traditionalist arrogant assassinators to go out and allow the blood of our fellow creatures we share Earth with to run in to rivers? I urge you to join your local saboteur group, survey badger setts, donate to the Hunt Saboteurs Associa...
