Joe Sim creates art that teases the boundaries between color and surface. His work expresses the tension underlying nature's beauty as a simultaneously unifying and isolating force. Current works feature paint and pastel worked into aluminum. Additional preferred media include printmaking, pastel drawing, and watercolor painting. Joe trained as a classical printmaker, earning a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a Master of Science in Fine Art from Illinois State University.
