The Russ Report: November 2008
http://russreport.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2008. For the first time in 39 years, George and I went away together ALONE for a week. We did not take any children, grandchildren, friends or pets with us. This wonderful opportunity was a gift from my parents who own a time share in Gatlinburg Tennessee. They are no longer well enough to make the trip, so they let us go. At first I was worried about what we would talk about and do with so much free time, but it turned out to be great fun and very relaxing. The next day, I picked a...

Wednesday, July 16, 2008. My Dad was training off the coast of Tokoyo in preparation for the invasion of Japan when the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. His Marine unit was the first to enter the city after the blast. He was also given a signed paper fan from one of the survivors outside the city. This is also in the memory box. Links to this post. Our Family Tales: November 2012
http://lambourners.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 09, 2012. This Halloween, we went trick or treating with the cousins. Hudson kept changing his mind about what he wanted to be. He already had this Oscar the grouch winter hat from Christmas last year so it seemed like a good costume to put together from things we already had. Grandpa completed the costume by making Hudson a trashcan out of poster board, foil, and duct tape. The kids loved spending Halloween with their cousins. She celebrated her actual birthday with balloons and a prese...

Tuesday, August 07, 2012. Jack's birthday and Easter were on the same day this year so we had a lot to celebrate and be grateful. The kids woke up and hunted for their Easter baskets. Our Family Tales: Nola turns 2!
http://lambourners.blogspot.com/2012/11/nola-turns-2.html
Friday, November 09, 2012. On August 31st, Nola turned 2. Its hard to believe that our baby is already a toddler. She celebrated her actual birthday with balloons and a present from Mommy and Daddy. We surprised her with a new Disney Princess castle for her room. She was excited to start playing with it. However, her brothers and sister soon took over her new toy. The weekend after her birthday, we had a Parisian themed birthday party with the extended family. We served brunch, cake, and cookies.

Widmann Family: Rain,Rain Go Away?
http://widmannfamily.blogspot.com/2008/07/rainrain-go-away.html
Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Rain,Rain Go Away? Today we had a good ole Florida rain! It reminded me of the rains we had when I was a little girl. A hard down pour of warm rain without thunder and lightning filled the streets in minutes. Emily and Brady couldn't wait to get out and play. They had a blast running, jumping, and screaming in the rain. It was so fun to watch their excitement and it brought back many memories of my brothers and sisters, and I playing in the rain.
