Monday, March 8, 2010. Tonight it's time to enjoy some rain and a bit of thunder. It's comforting to hear that tonight. I haven't heard a thundersto. Rm in a while. Made tonight more fun by making some cupcakes. Marlo is hanging out at my feet. Love a good puppy. Cheesy, non-committal TV shows. Early night of pajama wearing. If only Patty Griffin were here to serenade us. Great song - semi weird video.eh. Photo by open.salon.com. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. A Cup of Jo.

growing freely.: easter weekend.
http://growingfreely.blogspot.com/2010/04/easter-weekend.html
Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Back to work I go. But, before I make another phone call.or organize some more things around my desk.or go back outside. I have to say what an absolutely wonderful weekend it has been. Luckily for me, I have had the opportunity to enjoy a four day retreat from work in celebration of Easter. [hold back your chanting and fist pumping] Sleeping in really is good for the soul. As well as taking the day at your own pace, reading what you want, taking. I really liked it. Met up with som...

Thursday, December 31, 2009. On the Eve of a New Year. Tonight I'll be heading downtown to ring in the New Year with a concert by The Avett Brothers! I do not know their music well at all, but I'm sure after this shindig I'll become a fan. It's definitely in the genre of tunes I enjoy. So until I return, here's a sampling from their NPR: Tiny Desk Concert. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Enjoy! Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Can I just say. This year we went and watched the movie It's Complicated. I loved i...

Friday, February 5, 2010. For you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me". Just something I'm reading through right now. I heard this a little different tonight. I was thinking a little bit about what the line "your rod and your staff, they comfort me" means. This is just a quick wondering that I wanted to put down. I am totally a sheep right now. Which is fine. I have to be reminded of things over and over at this point. I need. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Well, here we go. i'...

growing freely.: November 2009
http://growingfreely.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 28, 2009. Well, I've been addicted to a particular group and song lately. I saw THE SWELL SEASON. In concert the other weekend with a good friend of mine. And of course, I prepared for said concert by listening to all of the music I have by them. If you have seen the movie Once. And have heard of the wonderful Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova then you understand why you can't not enjoy them. And why I can't get enough of their own rendition of Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic.".

Friday, August 22, 2008. Like my comrades, I am enjoying some new free time. Family camp ended today. The French families were wonderful. Although, I was really intimidated by them at first. My French is much better than it was 10 days ago. Today when each family left I couldn't help but wish I had a little more time with them. I am currently in a state of mourning for my digital camera. My beloved Nikon. is . dead. c'est mort. . I am even a little frustrated. I have started to feel a...Time t...

Monday, June 15, 2009. But I think I can safely say that I entered adulthood lacking a very important domestic skill. how to cook well. But when it came to me cooking in the kitchen. all I really did was. eat salad. open a can of tuna. heat up some Campbell soup. or boil some spaghetti. That is pretty much. the extent of my kitchen prowess. Although Dad did cook often. Somewhat fitting his profession he enjoys hunting. So Dad always grilled up venison steak. We ate a ton of deer steak growing...I heard l...

Friday, December 26, 2008. I wanted to blog lately but I didn't have anything nice to say. I've been haunted by harsh emotions that have mostly revolved around three main states of being. 1) piercing sorrow (perfunctory tears.without provocation). 2) flagrant rage (i want to punch a face. i want to break my knuckles on someones jaw). 3) extreme self-loathing (for feeling the above two emotions). I should be shocked by joy. Filled with gratitude. Awed by mystery. Wes proposed to her on Dec. 23rd! But stil...

http://jointherabble.blogspot.com/2009/05/in-france-again.html
Friday, May 22, 2009. I am back in the lovely land of baguettes and cheeses and wines and many other fine things. My travels across the Atlantic were smooth and easy. the eyes of our predecessors, of long ago times, would POP if they knew how easy it was for me to cross this ocean. I slept nearly the entire trans-Atlantic flight. Not even the summer exchange students from LSU speaking in strong and loud Lousianna southern accents could keep me awake. There are brilliant red poppies everywhere here! The o...

Saturday, November 22, 2008. We had all piled into the Subaru to get some sushi from our favorite sushi place. All four of us were buckling up and I was backing out the driveway. and turning the bun-warmers in the seats up to full throttle. We were all chattering about the amazingness of sushi and how happy we were because we were about to devour some. My mother screamed out. "its the demon-beast! And we all sat with faces full of registered shock! I actually saw the beast itself! It was huge. It was...
