Artist Statement | Josh Dorman
http://www.joshdorman.net/about
I paint in order to see things that would not exist if I did not paint them. As I get older, it gets more difficult to write about my own work. However, the less I am able to articulate what I do, the more I trust in my process. I collect outdated (pre-photography) textbooks, topographic maps, manuals, and documents. Paper that has lived a life and shows its age compels me to paint. I am intrigued by systems I do not understand and by information that is no longer relevant. 2007 Josh Dorman Web Design.

http://carlasswanktank.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 1, 2015. A one-way mirror to my soul. This January was really fun, because I got to kick off the year with working on my helmet design for Nutcase Helmets'. I started out on the work. After transferring my drawings to linoleum, I carved them out. I then mixed some inks, brayered them out, and inked up my linoleum to get it ready to print. The most exciting part of my process is when I get to see how the print turned out! Photo credit: Toby Orzano). EXACTLY. In the end, we decided to ...

Wednesday, April 16, 2014. In the spring, tender grasses won't burn easily. Spring is truly here in Portland! This month marks my six-month mark here. and it sounds cheesy and trite to say, but things just keep getting better. Perhaps it's the excitement of spring. Perhaps it's the fact that everything is in bloom. Either way, here's how my finished spring mailer came out. It's hot off of the presses! This month my art is up at Zuzu Salon. Links to this post. http://carlasswanktank.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 18, 2013. I moved to Portland, Oregon from Rochester, New York. WOW! I drove across the country with an old friend, got stuck on the way, and had a great American adventure. The past month and a half here have been a happy blur of yoga, cycling, art, running, beer, and making new friends. Change is the ultimate tonic. I've neglected this blog in favor of microblogging; my instagram. And facebook illustrator page. But, here's a short recap for you;. It's also available on my etsy. My firs...

Wednesday, October 29, 2014. I'd just set the course North and I'd study the charts and towards dawn I drifted towards sleep. We also went way up (6000 feet! To Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. I was very excited to be involved with Design Week Portland. Videos and Animated Shit. Josh Dorian writer, geyser surfer, wormhole traverser, very occasional hyperbolator. Trying out some new sticks. Have a couple demo sticks to try out. Can’t wait to play with some fuzzy balls. New home decor for my media room. Hung a map of Spain by toilet in case house guests are thinking about traveling to the Iberian peninsula while having a poo. In Tom Selleck’s heyday, sexy meant wearing a wildebeest pelt on your chest. Who gives a damn? Don't be a douchechalupa.

Josh's blog 4 kids who can't read good and wanna learn to do other stuff good too
Josh's blog 4 kids who can't read good and wanna learn to do other stuff good too. Monday, December 3, 2007. Lit Reflection: “The Outcasts of Poker Flat”. While reading “The Outcasts of Poker Flat”, I found many different types of conflicts. As the story begins, the conflict of man vs. society is evident. The conflicts of man vs. himself and man vs. nature begin as soon as the outcasts leave Poker Flat. Posted by Cubano-josh d. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Which Tissues do you prefer?
