An unwelcome, transforming teacher – Cari Jenkins
https://carijenkins.wordpress.com/2015/05/11/an-unwelcome-transforming-teacher
Shine Speak Life. Give Courage. Bless. An unwelcome, transforming teacher. May 11, 2015. May 12, 2015. A wave of panic swept over me and I glanced around to find the nearest exit. I was trapped. Duty called. I needed to stay, greet the speaker, thank my friend for the invitation, and kindly say good-bye to those I had met in the moments prior to the tears, the dam and the panic. Much of the world seeks to provide a way out of the waters of pain. We are provided with all kinds of apparatus to avoid pa...
The grace of pain – Cari Jenkins
https://carijenkins.wordpress.com/2015/01/07/the-grace-of-pain
Shine Speak Life. Give Courage. Bless. The grace of pain. January 7, 2015. Two words immediately came to mind as I reflected on 2014; grace and pain. These two words do not normally coexist. For this past year and honestly for the past four, I have experienced such depths of grace my life will never look the same. The grace however came in the most unexpected package. The grace came in pain. As I enter 2015, I am thankful for the grace found in pain. The Journal of a saint. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Brief thoughts on receiving: my Lenten journey – Cari Jenkins

Shine Speak Life. Give Courage. Bless. Brief thoughts on receiving: my Lenten journey. February 23, 2015. Receiving. It is a great humility. It is beautiful and important and actually transforming. It is a gift that is beyond my ability to understand and it is something that takes huge risk. I wake up to the risk each morning. Will I be one who receives today? Will I receive the grace, beauty and life that is provided by Jesus, or will I seek to earn and prove and strive. And, I am thankful. I am a daugh...
Thoughts from House 13: November 2005
http://house13.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Thoughts from House 13. Random Thoughts from a Dad in San Diego, CA. Tuesday, November 08, 2005. I've been spending some time evaluating my life lately. Trying to find the balance that makes everyone happy, including myself. It is a hard thing to find balance. Some days it is easier to achieve than others. One thing I was reminded of this past weekend is that first and foremost, I am a child of God. Why do I so easily forget that? I want to stay this age forever," he said. Why do you say that? I think it...

This spring our Oliver was diagnosed with complex craniosynostosis, a condition where the plates in his skull are fused together in multiple places. His health is otherwise great and he couldn't be a happier boy. He will need at least one corrective surgery to reshape his skull. This blog is to give updated information and ways to pray for him and his mom, dad, and older brother. Thursday, May 24, 2012. Pre-op appointment May 23, 2012. May 24, 2012 at 3:37 PM. Thoughts from House 13: July 2005
http://house13.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Thoughts from House 13. Random Thoughts from a Dad in San Diego, CA. Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Why is it so hard to keep it? You gotta have it, yet it is so easy to lose. Is my memory that short? Do I remember the stories? Do I re-tell the stories? So many questions.and very few answers. Some days are filled with anxious moments, impatient leg bouncing, wondering when the next thing will happen. What shall I do next? Am I ready for the next thing? Why won't the phone ring? What is my need to push things?
A manifest of belief when we are tempted to doubt – Cari Jenkins
https://carijenkins.wordpress.com/2015/03/28/a-manifest-of-belief-when-we-are-tempted-to-doubt
Shine Speak Life. Give Courage. Bless. A manifest of belief when we are tempted to doubt. March 28, 2015. I believe that this moment, as I type these words is a gift of eternity now; the second of time between the past and the present second. And, in this now, you hold me with such great strength that your heart seems to be directing the melody of my own. Your tears, fall in perfect rhythm with my own and melt into my tears as if they are your very own. Brief thoughts on receiving: my Lenten journey.
Thoughts from House 13: April 2006
http://house13.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Thoughts from House 13. Random Thoughts from a Dad in San Diego, CA. Tuesday, April 25, 2006. Ballpark Tour - Oriole Park. Is it every baseball lover's dream to travel around the country and visit all of the ballparks? Available, if you want to check them out. The Orioles were giving away fleece blankets, so that helped us stay warm. We tried to stick it out, but we only lasted for 3 innings. Just long enough for me to take a solo tour and get some souvenirs. Posted by King of the Mazza Monkeys @ 12:41 PM.
Ashes and invitations – Cari Jenkins
https://carijenkins.wordpress.com/2015/02/18/ashes-and-invitations
Shine Speak Life. Give Courage. Bless. February 18, 2015. Ashes The remnant left over when all is destroyed. Ashes The reminder that what once was, is no more. Ashes A clear reminder that death has visited and has robbed life in some form. Ashes, hold hope and sorrow. Ashes, hold invitation and defeat. Ashes, hold memories of presence and fears of the future without. Today ashes were placed on my forehead. In the form of a cross, the black soot, labeled me. Ashes, like life, hold both joy and sorrow.
