thread, in the field: warm floors
http://threadinthefield.blogspot.com/2012/05/warm-floors.html
Thread, in the field. Thursday, May 17, 2012. Radiant floors were a desire from the start of the project. This type of heating is perhaps the most comfortable, and combined with a thermal mass can be one of the most efficient as well. How does it work? Surfaces in the room of radiant systems will be higher, so typically the air temperature can be cooler, and therefore the thermostat can actually be set to around 65-68degrees instead of 68-72degrees. Radiant temps versus air convective patterns.

Thread, in the field. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Scaffolding cloaking the building. The scaffolding went up last week, and already the exterior sheathing is complete, bringing more of a sense of enclosure to the interior spaces. We can get a real sense of the window openings (which are pleasantly large), the views, and the ceiling heights. We really like the orange pin-stripping of the netting. Posted by thread collective. thread, in the field: trouthouse inspected
http://threadinthefield.blogspot.com/2012/08/trouthouse-inspected.html
Thread, in the field. Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Yesterday we passed the DOB Certificate of Occupancy site inspection with zero. Objections. Pretty incredible since the inspectors always like to find something little thing to mark down. We leaped over another hurdle in the long closing out process. In the meantime, we are tackling the nitty gritty punchlist and cleaning in preparation for our move (next week! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). But we sincerely hope that Bushwick is able to hold onto all the great things that make it Bushwick. Next Williamsburg: Bushwick, Brooklyn Crain's New York Business. 8220;It's incredible,” said Brooke Hoffine, the eatery's manager. Thread, in the field. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Fall means back to blogging. So yes, we have taken a bit of a break from blogging over the past few months, although that's not to say that we have not been busy. Over the summer Elliott and Gita led a planning studio at Pratt which focused on Roof-Top Urban Agriculture, covered here in Inhabitat, Pratt Students Bring Farms to NYC Rooftops in Exciting Summer Studio. And you can see more student work on our blog. Thread was a project partner with Mary Miss.
