Friday, June 15, 2012. Had another great connection meeting today, thanks to Joe! We met with John, a Team Leader at Re/max Results. We’ve heard so many positive things about John from Joe. John has helped grow Joe’s business in a positive direction because his real estate knowledge. Initially we thought that hey, at the very least we’d have a great agent looking out for group homes that are for sale. We walked away from this meeting with WAY MORE than that! Friday, May 18, 2012. Another big day today…we had a second response to our letter by another group home owner. Tuesday, May 1, 2012. We can celebrate the small things…every step will lead us towards our goal. We’ve also signed up for STAR Services training courses and plan to full utilize this opportunity to becoming more educated on this field. Friday, June 1, 2012. Last week we met with Dawn from Ramsey County. Dawn told us that Ramsey County serves about 3,000 people on the CADI waiver, 1,500 on the DD waiver and 60-70 on the CAC waiver. She also shared that there are over 100 case managers at the county level! Ashley was so great to speak with. She shared information about the Fairweather Model and how Tasks was started. Again, it was great to see another shared living model, especially because it’s been extremely successful.

Monday, January 31, 2011. Had a great phone conversation today with Bev Kahler from The Arc. Bev asked if we could be involved in the annual Corky Peters Golf Tournament held in June. This event is a HUGE fundraiser for their organization. We’ll be helping with marketing materials and finding sponsors. Excited to help this organization in any way possible.
