#338 - Nascent Gander |120 Paintings
http://jmahorney.blogspot.com/2013/11/338-nascent-gander.html
Jeff Mahorney's painting blog. 338 - Nascent Gander. 12" x 12" Oil on 2" cradled hardboard (currently NFS). I love canadian geese. In my mom's neighborhood in north Durham, me and my special lady ( who's work. Is quite an art itself) know a spot we like to call "goose corner". The Canada geese almost always hang out there and are completely unphased or afraid of any traffic. Perhaps it's because we usually stop to gander (no pun) at their beauty. Jeff Mahorney's painting blog. Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated" -Mark Twain. I'm always looking for an excuse to say that. Anyway, beside being a slack ass this week and only posting once, my camera broke on top of that! I think I have to say good bye to my cheapo but trusty old Canon a75. :(. Anyone got any budget conscious suggestions for a camera? I actually painted this morning but now I have to get another camera or wait til a painting is dry enough to scan. Hang-Up Brush Caddy -.

Jeff Mahorney's painting blog. What I've Learned (after 120 paintings). I should have posted this earlier (right after #120), but I swear it seems like the more I learn about painting, the more it changes. Lucky for me the most important things I've learned haven't changed one bit. This is the short version of what I've learned:. This is the long unnecessary version:. If there is one important thing I learned about painting this is it:. Value compostion. I find that a painting has to have a good valu...

Perhaps I've been spending too much time on color lovers. And using the color schemer app. But I think about colors schemes all the time. Jeff Mahorney's painting blog. 333 - The Last Beignet. 6" x 6" oil on hardbord Sold. This painting (commissioned by my cousin) was made from a photograph I took, the last time we were together in New Orleans having coffee and beignets. I hope it's not really the last real beignet I ever have. No one makes them quite like the Cafe Du Monde. Look at this cool blog really amazing, same as the postpage of painters Toronto.
