I am trying to find out the history of the park and the wool merchant who gifted it, Stanley Holt Armitage. The old Batley Carr train station was directly opposite the mills on Bradford Rd. There are lots of photos of rag trade mills in Dewsbury and Batley, tho curiously none that I can see of Ellis’ mill.
