Everybody has to change, or they expire. Everybody has to leave, everybody has to leave their home and come back so they can love it again for all new reasons.". Donald Miller, Through Painted Deserts. Thursday, July 26, 2007. New Colour for a New Life! I just got an e-mail from one of my Chinese students and the subject was "Oh, you gonna start your new life? It'll change again soon enough. but when I have more energy to do so! Alicia's Adventure: Walk for Matteo
http://aliciapashby.blogspot.com/2011/06/walk-for-matteo.html
Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Here's something I'll be up to in Kiev this coming. Is a student at Kiev International School, the "rival" of my school, Pechersk School International. On Sunday, 5 June, I will be participating in a 12km walk around Kiev, with lots of other people. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help Matteo's family pay for this surgery. Would you prayerfully consider "sponsoring" me in this endeavor? If you are willing to help, you can go here. Posted by Alicia Pashby. Oman, the Lake Woeb...

Alicia's Adventure: July 2010
http://aliciapashby.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 22, 2010. Does Anyone Want a Sheep? So much has changed in the last 3 years! Steffi and I are still dreaming of a day when we will live in the same location. When that will be, only God knows. I first learned Settlers when I moved to Bahrain and went on vacation with Josh, Alison and Russ. They were the most competitive people to learn this game from! It was kind of stressful to try and find a place to put my little pieces! What I mean is, Russ and I were also there.). You know who you are!

Everybody has to change, or they expire. Everybody has to leave, everybody has to leave their home and come back so they can love it again for all new reasons.". Donald Miller, Through Painted Deserts. Thursday, March 19, 2009. I never realized how emotional this would be. Mainly because I can no longer eat the food that I love AND because the food that I make others don't love! Saturday, March 7, 2009. Song of the week. I think that this is my song from this past week! I have a shelter in the storm.

Alicia's Adventure: No Guarantees: Remembering MDY
http://aliciapashby.blogspot.com/2011/07/no-guarantees-remembering-mdy.html
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. No Guarantees: Remembering MDY. Yesterday, my college mentor, Mary DeYoung passed away after a quick 3 week battle with cancer. I am in shock as I write this; 3 weeks is such a short amount of time and I didn't even realize that Mary was diagnosed with cancer! My friendship with Mary continued to grow as Mary was one of the spearheaders of a vocational exploration trip in Kenya, which included 23 people spanning the ages 10-70! Mary became my "official" mentor for the Hope College...

Alicia's Adventure: March 2010

Monday, March 1, 2010. The Fall, Parts 2 and 3. When I first arrived in Kiev in August, I thought about falling in the street, but knew that I would most likely stay upright. Well, in case you missed it, I apparently have been gravitationally challenged only once in this tricky Eastern European city, and I would attribute it to not to actually falling, but to playing around with my ipod while walking. If you missed it, read. Posted by Alicia Pashby. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Alicia's Adventure: The Great Laundry Caper
http://aliciapashby.blogspot.com/2010/04/great-laundry-caper.html
Friday, April 16, 2010. The Great Laundry Caper. Laundry is the gift that keeps on giving. So, naturally after a vacation, I always do my laundry. On Tuesday, I decided that a few of my darker pieces of clothing needed to get washed on a warmer cycle, partly because I wanted my jeans to shrink. When you don't have a dryer, things start to expand after a while.Well, I wasn't prepared for what happened on this cycle! The good thing is that at least the jeans still fit. Alicia's Adventure: March 2011
http://aliciapashby.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 19, 2011. Yesterday, I went to the national opera with several friends because my voice teacher. Was singing the role of Oksana in Zaporozhian beyond the Danube. The opera was all in Ukrainian, and was written by. S Gulak-Artemovskiy. I had never heard of this opera before I moved to Ukraine, and I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never heard of the composer, either! I didn't really know what to expect when attending this opera, but I was sure to print out a synopsis. Posted by Alicia Pashby.
