Will Work for Paint: Show Extended / Drawing is Fun
http://sharonbancroft.blogspot.com/2012/10/show-extended-drawing-is-fun.html
Will Work for Paint. The life and times of Sharon Bancroft, painter. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Show Extended / Drawing is Fun. Good news - my work will stay up at Elcy's Cafe. For a few more weeks. If you haven't been able to get to Glenside yet, you still have time! I had a little fun drawing at last night's figure session. I feel very little pressure when drawing in pencil. Maybe it's because I spent so much time sketching in pencil when I was a kid, or because it's so easy to erase mistakes!

Walking Snake: Karl Shapiro, Consultant in Poetry, 1946-'47
http://josiahbancroft.blogspot.com/2011/01/karl-shapiro.html
January 11, 2011. Karl Shapiro, Consultant in Poetry, 1946-'47. The fifth Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress arrived on the scene with a clear sense of purpose. Karl Shapiro's poems had profound subjects: classism, war, anti-semitism, and third-world exploitation. In general, he explored these topics from a vantage very different from the previous Consultants, who alternated between professor and confessor. Shapiro wrote from the mob rather than the lectern. But only keep you with them all.
