My Daily Deus Ex Machina: September 2012
http://daily-deus-ex-machina.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 30, 2012. It's finally hitting me. Now that the excitement and chaos of driving cross-country, selling a house, buying a house, driving cross-country, moving into a new house (in a new state), AND finding out that we are becoming a family of five has finally, sort of, begun to wear off.it's hitting me. I'm really, truly, missing our friends and family in the Northwest, Texas, and Hawaii. This may sound horribly callous."You haven't missed them until now? Big bodies of water. Here are a ...

My Daily Deus Ex Machina: May 2013
http://daily-deus-ex-machina.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 18, 2013. The Tulip Festival is a huge event in Orange City (about 20 minutes away) celebrating all things Dutch. Here are a few of the highlights during our initiation today:. The boys both rode on a Ferris Wheel today for the very first time. They were extremely brave! We watched a parade with floats celebrating Dutch icons and history, marching bands, local celebrities, and tractors. Chillin' on the playground. What kinda crazy instrument is this, anyway? Our Dutch baby with his blue eyes.

My Daily Deus Ex Machina: Neighbors
http://daily-deus-ex-machina.blogspot.com/2013/08/neighbors.html
Thursday, August 15, 2013. Well, it's been a long, dry spell. Much too long. I have been itching to write- to process, to ruminate, to reflect- and now that the kids are finally going back to school next week, I feel that that might just be possible once again? The topic for the day is neighbors. I was kind, and sweet, and accommodating, to these children, and then when they stopped listening to me I got mean. If you are at my house you may NOT play in the street! You may NOT come in our house! I don't k...

My Daily Deus Ex Machina: November 2012
http://daily-deus-ex-machina.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2012. So much has changed this past year for our family; it seems impossible to sum it all up in a Christmas letter. I'll do my best, however, and will resort to bullet points at times in order to keep things concise! Here's a little update for those of you who we haven't talked to in some time:. Josiah graduated with his MFA in directing from Baylor University. Josiah was hired at Dordt College, in Sioux Center, Iowa, as a theatre professor. We sold our house in Seattle. The boys s...

My Daily Deus Ex Machina: This One
http://daily-deus-ex-machina.blogspot.com/2013/05/this-one.html
Monday, May 6, 2013. A lot of people have been asking how Kai is doing these days, and I tell them honestly, he's doing great. We've never experienced a colicky, fussy baby, or had to deal with milk or other food allergies. We thought *surely* it was our turn to deal with one of these common issues, and yet Kai remains a laid-back, happy, sleep-loving baby, and for this we are extremely thankful. Ok, you can hate us now. Monday, May 06, 2013. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

My Daily Deus Ex Machina: December 2012
http://daily-deus-ex-machina.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 8, 2012. Last weekend we hosted a cookie decorating party for the Dordt theatre department. We made 125 cookies, and had about 30 people come, including a couple of Josiah's colleagues and their kids. Our boys LOVED decorating and eating cookies, as well as all the attention. The bunny got a lot of attention as well- he was passed around during the entire party! Think we might have to make this an annual tradition. Saturday, December 08, 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

At least for me. The kids seem to take it in stride. Here's our current schedule each night:. Across the table,.
