Talking the Tech Walk: March 2014
http://talkingthetechwalk.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Talking the Tech Walk. Monday, March 31, 2014. This past week did not start out well. On Monday I covered for an absent teacher by teaching a super-sized class as I included his students with the ones that were scheduled to meet with me. To make matters worse, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we had heat under repair, which made my usual lab uninhabitable and I taught in a multipurpose area, without even a whiteboard. But then they got it! I loved this post. Talking the Tech Walk. Talking the Tech Walk.

Talking the Tech Walk: Teaching is never boring...by Shirley

Talking the Tech Walk. Friday, February 8, 2013. Teaching is never boring.by Shirley. How much can one learn, share, demonstrate in a few hours? At a conference or workshop that could be quite a bit and of course in the classroom we expect a lot. Last Thursday was no different than many days in our eight day fun packed schedule, but the variety of happenings was quite exciting. Cam with his new microphone. I then met up with Liz, a visiting teacher from The Randolph school, who had come to observe for th...

Talking the Tech Walk. Thursday, May 31, 2012. The First Time I Used a Computer to Teach by Laura. The first time I ever used a computer to teach was in 1989. I was a student teacher. I was teaching evolution, and my soon-to- be husband, a scientist, was experimenting with a two year old taxonomy program called MacClade. Http:/ macclade.org/intro.html. Talking the Tech Walk. Talking the Tech Walk: A Humble Word
http://talkingthetechwalk.blogspot.com/2014/08/a-humble-word.html
Talking the Tech Walk. Sunday, August 24, 2014. We just dropped our son off at college. It's a bittersweet experience. A few weeks before leaving, he had a confidence crisis. His freshman course assigned some reading and a short paper. His comments (read, grumblings)when writing the paper— “This just doesn’t read like a college paper to me-I must not be ready for this.”. What my son needed, was patience- with himself. I can compare it to its cousin, grit, which will have to be banished from my vocabulary...

Talking the Tech Walk: February 2013
http://talkingthetechwalk.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Talking the Tech Walk. Saturday, February 9, 2013. What do you do on a snow day? We learned early that our school would probably be closed on Friday because of the pending snow storm that could bring up to 19 inches of snow to our area. For many schools that meant a day off with students having no connection to their teachers or classes. For online classes. Our schedule of classes for Friday was, Humanities 1 at 10am and Humanities 2 at 11am. We all signed onto Edmodo and classes began. To communicate wi...

Talking the Tech Walk: September 2012
http://talkingthetechwalk.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Talking the Tech Walk. Thursday, September 13, 2012. I read a very sad (for me) and frustrating (for the author) email a few weeks ago. It was written by a teacher on a listserve I subscribe to. This teacher's school administration forbids teachers from teaching anything new during the first two weeks of school. I can't imagine greeting the hopefully faces of a new school year and structuring class around the same things they learned last year. Just review for the first two weeks? Talking the Tech Walk.
