Josie Cosgrove - Studio 3

Josie Cosgrove - Studio 3. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Workshop #8 - Deep Etching. For this workshop we learnt an effective way to deep etch a subject on the cyclorama. This is useful for our digital imaging major assignment, in which we have to take a photograph of someone in the studio and place them in a landscape. Workshop #7 - Copy Work. Lighting is very important as it has to be even throughout the frame. For this we set up two lights both at 45 degree angles and used a spotmeter to make sure the l...

Josie Cosgrove - Studio 3: Workshop #6 - Macro

http://josiestudio3.blogspot.com/2010/06/workshop-6-macro.html

Josie Cosgrove - Studio 3. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Workshop #6 - Macro. I actually had quite a bit of fun with this workshop, and I almost enjoyed figuring out the mathematical equations we needed! Unfortunately Burkey lost the files for the shots that we took, but I was very pleased with our stamp, and how sharp it was. It was amazing the kind of detail you can get in an object when you take it at 1 to 1 magnification. Here is the info we got from both our shots. Shot 1 : Watch. Shot 2 : Stamp.

Josie Cosgrove - Studio 3. Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Workshop #3 - Hasselblads. Yay we got to work with the hasselblads finally! And they were SO incredibly slow. I am considering downloading the software so I can use it on my laptop rather than those ancient apple computers because it took almost 5 minutes to take each shot! The quality is just lovely and there is just so much you can do with such a large file. Workshop #2 - Product Revision. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Workshop #3 - Hasselblads.

http://josiestudio3.blogspot.com/2010/06/workshop-4-glass.html

Josie Cosgrove - Studio 3. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Workshop #4 - Glass. Here are the shots we took for our light and dark field glass. The light field worked much better I thought, and the lighting is much easier to control as you can just move the black paper on either side of the object. The basic idea is for light field illumination to place the object with a light behind it (preferably on a light table) and use black cardboard on either side out of the frame to create edges in the object.

http://josiestudio3.blogspot.com/2010/06/workshop-6-tilt-shift.html

Josie Cosgrove - Studio 3. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Workshop #6 - Tilt Shift. I was away for the tilt shift workshop as I was getting my tonsils out. But I will talk about my folio tilt shift shot instead. These shots were taken on the haselblads with the adapter. As you can see it made an amazing difference to the depth of field! Josie Cosgrove - Imaging 3: Panorama

http://josieimaging3.blogspot.com/2010/05/panorama.html

Josie Cosgrove - Imaging 3. Monday, May 24, 2010. Here is my finished panorama. It was taken at the top of Burnt stump hill, out the back of Gungahlin. Not too happy with it really, as the sky is incredibly boring. It did stitch nicely however. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Picture Window theme. Powered by Blogger.

Josie Cosgrove - Location 3: Next Class - Response to question 7

http://josielocation3.blogspot.com/2010/05/next-class-response-to-question-7.html

Josie Cosgrove - Location 3. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Next Class - Response to question 7. If you were expected to do a travel shoot, what would you possibly be expected to shoot? As travel photography is essentially 'advertising' a place, you would normally be expected to shoot landscapes, street shots, portraits etc. that capture the beauty and culture of the place you have been asked to photograph. Josie Cosgrove - Imaging 3. Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Just doing some experiments with HDRs before I put my presentation together. This was in Burano in Venice, it was a lovely little island with wonderfully coloured buildings. It was quite spectacular. I included before and after pictures to give you a feel of the effects of a HDR image. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Picture Window theme. Powered by Blogger.

Josie Cosgrove - Folio Development. Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Final Draft - Poster. Here is my poster for my RSPCA campaign. It hasn't changed since my first draft as I am pretty happy with it. So I decided to make 'Pet is for Life.' my main message, and I have kept the same two fonts throughout my campaign. The blue colour on the RSPCA logo has stayed as my font colour throughout also. Josie Cosgrove - Location 3. Saturday, February 20, 2010. Next Class - Monoblocs, Mobilities, Portable Fill Flash and IR triggering devices. A Monobloc (or Monolight) is a self contained flash unit that is generally smaller than conventional studio flash units, making it easier to take on location. They have an independent power source, meaning they do not need a power outlet, and are operated independently from other flash units. This is useful as each light can be set to different settings. However whe...

Josie Cosgrove - Location 3. Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Next Class - Response to question 6. What do you like in a landscape photograph? I think that the most important part of a landscape photograph is detail. It can be effective to have very simple landscapes, but I really admire a landscape photograph which has great detail in the foreground, middleground and background. Josie Cosgrove - Imaging 3: Presentation - HDR

http://josieimaging3.blogspot.com/2010/05/presentation-hdr.html

Josie Cosgrove - Imaging 3. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. After saving the files on your computer edit the RAW files as you would normally (sharpness, saturation etc.). Creating the HDR image. In my presentation I used the program Photomatix, as I feel it is the best program to create HDRs as the tone mapping controls are very easy to use and it is easy to personalize the kind of look you want. Once you are happy with the result, you can save it and you are done! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
