Monday, September 29, 2014. I have decided to paint the exterior as the hull is upside down and ready at this point. Centerboard will get painted as well. The whole boat has been sanded to 180 grit and dusted and wiped clean of dust with rags and solvent. I will do it one more time prior to the application of the paint. Photos coming. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Now that the forward decks have been framed out, I am turning back to the cockpit areas. Seating under the deck has been shaped and cut out. I use a piece of masonite to fabricate the part prior to cutting the marine plywood. This system is working out well. October 31st, 2014. NOvember 8 update -. Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Flipping back to right side up is more difficult than flipping to upside down as there is nothing to grab on to. Process:. 1 roll cradle out to lawn.

Saturday, May 23, 2015. The only puzzle is the placement for the nutserts for the mizzen sprit on the purchased spar section. The mizzen nutserts are sitting almost a foot higher than on the mark indicated on the plans. I hope to figure out if this is a modification from the plans, or if I need to put Nutserts at the plan lines. The main mast looks great. Thursday, August 28, 2014. August 28, 2014. The plans have some conflicting information. On the instruction sheets, the keel is described as being 3/4" and on the plans it measure 1"x1". I went with this as I can always make it smaller, but not bigger if needed. V groove from stern to stem. Tools used to cut the V groove. Keel set temporarily in place to see how it fits. Saturday, May 23, 2015. This is a modification from the plans. I purchased a 3.5 hp Tohatsu for it. Fits good. The only puzzle is the placement for the nutserts for the mizzen sprit on the purchased spar section. The mizzen nutserts are sitting almost a foot higher than on the mark indicated on the plans. I hope to figure out if this is a modification from the plans, or if I need to put Nutserts at the plan lines. June 9 - update, fiberglass mast track wedges. Cut 14" length, then 13", 12", 11", 10.
