Infertility Journal: Church

http://www.journalingif.blogspot.com/2011/03/church.html

Friday, March 11, 2011. Church is one of the best and worst places to be when you're living with infertility. Many, many people who are struggling with infertility stop attending church. Why? You look at the pews full of families around you and feel like you don't fit in. Some of the worst breakdowns that Dave and I have had about infertility have been at church. They were embarrassing. They invited us to their homes and shared their stories of infertility and the happy endings with us. They put our ...

Monday, March 7, 2011. Reasons why I am or soon should be pregnant:. A friend had a dream that I was pregnant. Had a dream that I was pregnant. 11 is my lucky number. It's 2011, so I will get pregnant this year. Dave got a promotion and a raise at work so now we can afford for me to be a stay-at-home mom. Seemingly out of the blue, Halima. Asked me if I had a baby in my tummy. We bought a house. Now we have room for a baby. I started an exercise routine. Now I'll be fit for my pregnancy. Welcome to my jo...

Infertility Journal: An Announcement

http://www.journalingif.blogspot.com/2013/06/an-announcement.html

Tuesday, June 18, 2013. I am not seeing a doctor again until next year (besides my dad, and soon my brother, but that's beside the point). I now only take 3 pills daily instead of 7. Dave can retire from his job as a part-time nurse, giving me injections. I'm not looking online every month, re-reading the same articles about early pregnancy symptoms. Yes, Dave and I are finally saying goodbye to fertility treatments. We threw a party to celebrate. Then we burned it. What's next, you ask? Welcome to my jo...

The Blackmers: The First Three Weeks

http://blackmerfam.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-first-three-weeks.html

Wednesday, October 1, 2014. The First Three Weeks. Our stake has a rule that if men bless or pass the sacrament they have to stay up front for the entire meeting. I was so proud of Dave when, after the sacrament was over, he walked straight over to our pew and sat with us. Apparently, after he did that, the stake president changed his mind about that rule. I put a lot of posts on Facebook about how wonderful it was to finally be a mom:. At dinner we would play Would You Rather? The girls both came to us ...

Sunday, December 12, 2010. If you aren't a Harry Potter fan, you just might want to skip this one. This year for Thanksgiving the Rysers went to Universal Studios where you can now find the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was amazing. I was like a kid in a candy store the entire time we were there. Here is some of the really awesome stuff that they have re-created from the books:. One of the rides took you through the castle while you were waiting in line. We dined at the Three Broomsticks. Closing t...

The Blackmers: Becoming Foster Parents

http://blackmerfam.blogspot.com/2014/06/becoming-foster-parents.html

Monday, June 30, 2014. For years, Dave and I had discussed foster parenting but had always felt like it was something we would do after having biological children. We felt that the Lord was pushing us to pursue fertility treatments, so we did. Looking back, now we realize that it just wasn't the right time for us to be foster parents yet. The Blackmers: Where's Waldo?

http://blackmerfam.blogspot.com/2011/06/wheres-waldo.html

Monday, June 13, 2011. Dave turned 29 on Friday! This year I came up with a great birthday surprise. When he left to run an errand on Saturday morning, he came home to a Where's Waldo book with a list of items and people that he needed to find at the Gateway Mall. My mom wins the prize for best costume. Some of the people at the mall stopped her and asked if they could take their picture with her! Checking "pilot" off the list. Wenda, Waldo and Woof. June 14, 2011 at 10:26 PM. I loved this idea!

The Blackmers: The First Day

http://blackmerfam.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-first-day.html

Saturday, July 12, 2014. As we drove home T called me "Mommy." B told me that she calls a lot of people that. B wondered where her mother was and told me a little about being taken away from her that day. B went to sleep on her own, excited about her new One Direction bedspread and her own room. When she lived with her mother she had slept on the couch. I had no idea how to get a toddler to fall asleep. I let T play with some cups on my lap until she fell asleep at almost 11:00. The Blackmers: The Big 3-0

http://blackmerfam.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-big-3-0.html

Tuesday, September 25, 2012. This year Dave turned 30, so we commemorated the event with an entire weekend of celebration. On Friday night, Dave played Halo with his buddies into the wee hours of the morning. On Saturday, the Rysers took him to Nickel Cade where he and Nick played Battle Toads to their heart's content. On Sunday, the Blackmers came over for a Super Hero party! Fortunately, the Blackmers are awesome and always get into themed parties, especially costume ones. Athena and the Green Hornet.

journaling grace | celebrating love and grace in everyday life

Celebrating love and grace in everyday life. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. May 3, 2014. Today I met grace–again. Why is grace said to be amazing? It seems every day I live, I am more aware of the emptiness that is my effort, my ability, my character, my will. And the emptiness hurts–until I look grace in the face. So then, there is no failure or lack for those who are in Christ. So day by day, He bids us to cast off the world’s limitations and go before His Grace BOLDLY. It takes a ...
