Wednesday, October 1, 2014. The First Three Weeks. Our stake has a rule that if men bless or pass the sacrament they have to stay up front for the entire meeting. I was so proud of Dave when, after the sacrament was over, he walked straight over to our pew and sat with us. Apparently, after he did that, the stake president changed his mind about that rule. This year for Thanksgiving the Rysers went to Universal Studios where you can now find the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was amazing. We felt that the Lord was pushing us to pursue fertility treatments, so we did. Looking back, now we realize that it just wasn't the right time for us to be foster parents yet. Monday, June 13, 2011. Dave turned 29 on Friday! This year I came up with a great birthday surprise. When he left to run an errand on Saturday morning, he came home to a Where's Waldo book with a list of items and people that he needed to find at the Gateway Mall. My mom wins the prize for best costume. Some of the people at the mall stopped her and asked if they could take their picture with her! Checking "pilot" off the list. Wenda, Waldo and Woof. Saturday, July 12, 2014. As we drove home T called me "Mommy." B told me that she calls a lot of people that. B wondered where her mother was and told me a little about being taken away from her that day. B went to sleep on her own, excited about her new One Direction bedspread and her own room. When she lived with her mother she had slept on the couch. I had no idea how to get a toddler to fall asleep. I let T play with some cups on my lap until she fell asleep at almost 11:00. About a week later, we got a phone call asking if we would take two young boys. We were still mourning and recovering.We decided we weren't ready yet and we said "no.". October 1, 2014 at 8:51 PM. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. This year Dave turned 30, so we commemorated the event with an entire weekend of celebration. On Friday night, Dave played Halo with his buddies into the wee hours of the morning. On Saturday, the Rysers took him to Nickel Cade where he and Nick played Battle Toads to their heart's content. On Sunday, the Blackmers came over for a Super Hero party! Fortunately, the Blackmers are awesome and always get into themed parties, especially costume ones. Athena and the Green Hornet.
