Hank's Journal: CI 12 - Colour Block
http://journalingwithhank.blogspot.com/2009/11/ci-12-colour-block.html
PV 09 10 Blog. CI 12 - Colour Block. I've always enjoyed art and design, which has always attracted me to colour. I feel that colour has a lot to do with personality, emotion, and character, and affects us without always realizing it. The colours we do or do not use, is an important decision in every situation, whether it is business/professional work, or personal/playful work, as it plays a large roll in how we feel about it. I find myself in the middle. I love a lot of busy colours, but at the same tim...

PV 09 10 Blog. Here at PV, Reading Week = Movie Week. We were required to watch 3-6 movies related to Photography, and give our opinions, so here is what I have to say:. Movie one - BORN TO BROTHELS. Born to Brothels really made me think about just grabbing a simple point and shoot 35mm and photographing everything that goes on around me. Having so much gear just turns me off most of the time. Movie two - PECKER. It was a funny plot, with the kind of family he had, the life he lived, and the amount of fa...

PV 09 10 Blog. CI Field Trip 1. I was pretty stoked on going to the Zoo. I haven't been there in a very long time. What was really good about the zoo, was that there were next to no people and the clouds produced great lighting, but what wasn't so good, was the minimal animal activity, and the chilly weather. In the end, I am very glad we got to go! AT 62 Photographic Hero. A few events he covered include:. The Civil Rights movement in the South. The subject would be pulled from their environment just as...

PV 09 10 Blog. The portraits of Yousuf Karsh blew me away today. I was intrigued by the simplicity of the photos, the expressions he caught from the subjects, the lighting he used, and the fact that it was an 8x10 Large Format camera. There were lots of photos fighting for my #1, but the winner ended up being Earnest Hemmingway. What stands out right away, is the lighting. Both of these side lights (if there are two) form a rim of light around Hemmingway, causing him to pop from the black background.

Kirsten's Rants: November 2009
http://kirstensrants.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 17, 2009. CI 12 - Colour Block. Orange: the liner of my backpack/camera bag. A nice vivid, bright colour. Full of energy. Purple: our bedroom walls. It's not particularly calming or busy. This is a colour that has come in and out of my palette over the years, but I tend to really only like darker tones of it. Red: Kelsey's dog bowl. I like warm and dark tones of red, they feel friendly. I don't like cold reds. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). CI 12 - Colour Block. View my complete profile.

Monday, November 23, 2009. I got home and started shooting right away. I peeled my orange to get the true essence and capture its flavours. I then cut up some strawberries for a snack. Opened the banana and finally cut open the kiwi and WOW! Kiwi was fabulous colouring. I loved this assignment so much because not only did I get colours but I got a good snack afterwards. :D Yum Yum. KMR Photography: February 2010

Thursday, February 25, 2010. Last week at school we had movie week, which was an opportunity to view up to 6 movies that were photography related. It was a nice chance to take a break from all of our projects and enjoy some tasty treats! The three movies I chose to watch were O' Brother, Where Art Thou? One Hour Photo and Pecker and I really loved all three of them! I had seen O' Brother, Where Art Thou? It had a cute but hilarious story line and amazing actors! I'd give it at least 4 stars* *! It really...
