Remain Seated Please: August 2011
http://remainseatedplease.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Aug 30, 2011. Yesterday Disney California Adventure closed off the Sunshine Plaza to begin the process of turning it into Buena Vista Street. Guests entering the park are routed backstage behind Soarin' instead. Disney certainly didn't have to go to this level for something that will be gone this coming summer. If this path is any indication of their level of commitment to bettering the park, next summer should be quite amazing indeed. Aug 29, 2011. Permanacer Sentados Por Favor. Tales of a Disneyland Ca...

Remain Seated Please: Save Main Street From Swing
http://remainseatedplease.blogspot.com/2012/04/save-main-street-from-swing.html
Apr 24, 2012. Save Main Street From Swing. Image Courtesy { link. Given the furor that this is creating across the fan boards I figured I'd chime in on it. As you've probably heard, Disney will be closing the Carnation Plaza Gardens next week to re-theme them to a medieval village square for the Princesses. The stage that has been used for swing dancing for many long years will remain, but be re-themed. Once this area is complete, the swing dancing will indeed continue in this area. 4/24/12, 8:14 PM.

Remain Seated Please: Supermoon
http://remainseatedplease.blogspot.com/2012/05/supermoon.html
May 6, 2012. Comparison of Full Moon at Perigee vs. Apogee (Courtesy NASA). I decided to do some math and see just how big a difference there was between the April and May full Moons. Distance to April full Moon: 222,645 miles. Distance to May full Moon: 221,800 miles. That is only an 800 mile difference! That is less than the diameter of the moon (2,158 miles)! So why was no one talking about how huge the April full Moon looked? Σ = 2 tan. Σ is the angular diameter in degrees (sigma). 5/7/12, 1:39 AM.

Remain Seated Please: March 2012
http://remainseatedplease.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Mar 28, 2012. Won't You Join Me in a Cup of T? All Images Courtesy of Disney. I'm just going to say it. I think this is a wonderful idea and it should be quite a lot of fun. Mad T Party will be the 3rd such street party in DCA and is looking to be the best of them all. Glow Fest was much more for the whole family while elecTRONica was much more geared towards adults. Hatter, Alice, Cheshire Cat, Dormouse, Caterpillar and. March Hare are the house band. Seriously, this look has quickly become. I really lo...

Remain Seated Please: November 2011
http://remainseatedplease.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Nov 30, 2011. Tolerance at the Parks. This tends to come up a couple times every year as various holidays or group days at the parks roll around. Most recently I saw this in relation to Christmas carols being played on Main Street USA as many of them involve Christian religious sentiments. I've seen complaints about Bats Day and Gay Days as well. It seems that tolerance is a skill that many have forgotten. There are homosexual people at the parks every single day. The only difference between any give...

Remain Seated Please: January 2012
http://remainseatedplease.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Jan 31, 2012. The Trouble for DCA. Image Courtesy { link. California Adventure is going to face an interesting problem with the local Disneyland Fan crowd when it debuts this summer. Despite the massive project to completely alter the theme of the park, which they have done so beautifully, the theme hasn't really changed. It is still about California. At least that is how a fair number of the hardcore fans will see it. We've already got Disneyland. Some argue that Disneyland takes you places you can'...
