Journey to Jenny: Early December, 2010: Disclosure and Doubts

http://journey2jenny.blogspot.com/2011/05/early-december-2010-disclosure-and.html

An adoption adventure to join one little girl to her forever family. Monday, May 16, 2011. Early December, 2010: Disclosure and Doubts. Our home study is almost complete! Anything that anyone would want to know about the Davidsons has been disclosed. We’ve named our little girl Jennifer Christina, and the search for her is on! In this relatively quiet stage, the doubts are creeping in. Where is the energy to raise this child going to come from? Weren’t we going to “see the world”? Brad and Jo Davidson.

http://journey2jenny.blogspot.com/2011/05/later-november-2010-its-decided.html

An adoption adventure to join one little girl to her forever family. Monday, May 16, 2011. Later, November 2010: It's Decided. So it’s decided. The Davidsons are adopting again, and we’re adding some color to this lily white family….we’re going to Ethiopia! On a conference call to Lifeline Children’s Services we are challenged to find a little girl, with this particular need somewhere in China. It’s never, or perhaps once, been done before, and we could be a test family. Brad and Jo Davidson.

Journey to Jenny: March 2011: Bedtime Prayers

http://journey2jenny.blogspot.com/2011/05/march-2011-bedtime-prayers.html

An adoption adventure to join one little girl to her forever family. Monday, May 16, 2011. March 2011: Bedtime Prayers. Every night Grace and Ellie pray that Jenny can come home soon and that “we can take her to Disney World.”. I think that they thought it was much less selfish to ask to go to Disney if it was done in combination with praying for Jenny). I explained to them that as they are going to bed at night, Jenny is just getting up and beginning her day. This is a hard concept for littles to process.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Wellkind of. First thing this morning my phone rang, and sure enough it was our case worker, Lesley. Now, 24 hours after devising a rather elaborate plan to move our entire family to Uganda for 4-6 weeks (which a dear friend assured me was an utterly crazy thing to do), we are back on track and almost ready to submit our dossier to ETHIOPIA! Journey 2 Journal | Remember to live – goethe

Remember to live – goethe. Some time ago I met an old oak (believed to be about a hundred years old) that doesn’t fit the norm. The tree gives new meaning to the word sideways.
