The Middle East, terrorists, the horrible situation in Sudan and other nations, and our own messy political system feel like huge quagmires of stuckness. Will people in troubled regions of our world ever be able to live in freedom and justice? Will our political system ever unstick itself from dysfunctional partnerships and unholy fundraising and fraud? I want to believe change is possible but government systems around the world look permanently stuck to me.

March 29, 2018. Facing death while hoping for life. Our Chicago family heads home this evening after a wonderful 16 day visit with the youngest and a 6 day visit with his family.
