A Journey Through Thick and Thin

Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Pancetta and Pea Risotto. Oh Jamie Oliver, you always inspire me. Whether it's from "Jamie at Home" , "Jamie's Food Escapes", or even his "Food Revolution", he inspires me to be adventurous and try new things. On one of his recent episodes of "Jamie's Food Escapes", he traveled to Venice where he made this incredible array of risottos from one basic recipe. I decided it was high time to rid my fear of making risotto and dive in to the deliciousness. Adapted from Jamie Oliver.

A Journey Through Thick and Thin: October 2010

http://journeythroughthickandthin.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 28, 2010. Review: Taverna San Marco. I'm lucky enough to get emails from Groupon. On a daily basis, alerting me to special deals around Jacksonville. One afternoon, I saw that they had a deal going on for Taverna so I grabbed it and made plans to visit with an old friend of mine. I made reservations for 8:00pm on a Friday night, which may have been a crazy mistake of mine. the San Marco area on a Friday night has a serious lack of parking! The prawns arrived in a mini skillet, and were ...

Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Review: Via Napoli at Epcot. Walking in, you feel like you're instantly transported to a well worn in, much loved restaurant in the heart of Italy. The walls are painted with a nice fresco, with views of sun lit vineyards. It may seat 300 but it feels cozy at the same time. We were seated at the GIANT family style table in front of the pizza ovens, it seats about 40 people. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Please e-mail me at C.Ritchotte@gmail.com! Tuesday, January 12, 2010. 24 Before 24, Day Three. I'd like to make a haiku dedicated to muesli. Why did I hate you? Seriously, why did I ever doubt the stuff? It's packed with things that are so good for your body! Normal ingredients in muesli can include the following: uncooked rolled oats ,dried fruits, and nuts. Today's breakfast is a 1/2 cup of muesli ( I finally found one without nuts! Not a fan of them! 3/4 cup of 2% milk, and 1/2 a sliced banana. A filling breakfast and sooooo good! For my first...

A Journey Through Thick and Thin: September 2010

http://journeythroughthickandthin.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 30, 2010. Located in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the Southside is a new place called Urban Flats. It's the newest apres-work watering hole for the blue collar workers. The inside is sleek and modern, there's a huge outdoor seating area with barstools, tables, and comfy couches that will be wonderful for those nights it finally starts to cool down here in Jacksonville. Sunday, September 19, 2010. Easy Key Lime Pound Cake. 1 box Lemon cake mix. 1/3 cup vegetable oil. Bake for ...

Journey Through The Years

Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Rain clouds on the horizon. I am a good tired after a day of activity. In the early morning I kayaked with friends on our beautiful river. Still feeling my muscles from first aid training yesterday, I probably pushed myself a bit but it was good and the fellowship was lovely. I worked this afternoon but that too was good and fulfilling. And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long,. Steals on the ear the distant triumph song,. And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
