Erg interessant artikel over Hoogsensitiviteit. Ik herken er veel van mezelf in (ja, ik ben ook hoogsensitief, ofwel HSP) en persoonlijk vind ik dat er ook genoeg overlap met hoogbegaafdheid inzit. Dit was het moeilijkste blog om te schrijven, omdat het zo enorm persoonlijk is en ik er eigenlijk nooit met iemand over praat. Dit is het enige voorbeeld dat ik heb wat duidelijk maakt dat hoogbegaafd zijn niet altijd zo leuk is als mensen wel niet denken en dat het zeker geen “luxe probleem” is. De problemen van hoogbegaafden. Mijn hele leven loop ik al tegen bepaalde dingen aan, maar pas sinds mijn 15.

This blog was extremely difficult to write as it’s so deeply personal and I’ve never really talked about it with anyone. However, this is the only example that I really have, that will explain why being gifted is not “a luxury problem”. Even though I only found out I was gifted at age 15, I have been gifted all my life and this has greatly influenced my experiences in school. Able to learn more, but not allowed to.

Now that we have a definition I want to address some assumptions. Oh, it must be nice and easy to be gifted! Oh, it certainly isn’t. Especially not if you don’t know that you are gifted. Honestly, I spent 15 years of my life thinking I was crazy, or at the very least weird. That was a wonderful time Not! Studying must be easy then. You must only have good grades!
