Now what to do? Give the nightjar its well deserved attention or point my camera towards the clouds? Problem solved because the nightjar just gave its last couple of lapses before disappearing in the forest for its daytime nap. All other birds were just awake and took off from the fen. In many many ways as these pictures show that are all taken on the same day. And this is just a small selection of all the pictures I took. Maybe I'm so fascinated with them because I used to live on "cornflowerstreet", a street that once was indeed a field with corn, cornflowers and poppies before houses were build upon it.

Gelukkig had ik een droog plekje gevonden om sneeuwklokjes te fotograferen. De bloemetjes stonden op een plek die werkelijk een witte zee was van sneeuwklokjes. Terwijl iedereen nog op een oor lag stond ik in het veld te genieten van de stilte en het uitzicht met prachtig veenpluis. Om hier te staan had ik een nacht van maar 4 uur achter de kiezen toen ik alweer naast mijn bed stond. Dat heb ik de rest van de dag nog geweten. A beautiful morning in the field. Silence and a stunning view is all that an outdoor photographer needs. Fleur je kamer op!

Geleidelijk aan verdrong macrofotografie de vogels van de eerste plaats. Terwijl landschappen ook een grotere plek begonnen in te nemen in de database. Wat te doen op koningsdag als je helemaal niets hebt met de vele vrijmarkten en evenementen?
