Jewels of Encouragement: A New Name
http://www.jewelsofencouragement.com/2015/08/a-new-name.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Posted by Joy Bach. When my husband, John, and I had our home built five years ago, we stopped by almost every day to watch the progress. I saw the rocks that were being dug from our land, so I told the builder, “Save the rocks”. When the landscaping was completed, we had a combination of large rocks and small, smooth stones. The decor of our home includes rocks. John has a new name…a name I won’t know until I join him. And I will get a smooth, white stone of my own. 3 Questions W...

Jewels of Encouragement: July 2015
http://www.jewelsofencouragement.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Posted by Sarah Heywood. Picture courtesy of boutgreen.com. I couldn't help but notice him. I drove up the highway, still a bit bleary-eyed after dropping my teenage son off at his early morning driver's education classes. My three youngest children sat in the backseat of the van, still clad in their pajamas and sporting bed hair. He jumped up and down waving his arms wildly. My heart beat faster. What was going on? It had to be something terrible. How far are you going? It was app...

Jewels of Encouragement: September 2014

Friday, September 26, 2014. Musings on Mamma Mia and my Maker. Posted by Sarah Heywood. I'm female, from the top of my touched-up roots to the glitter polish on my toenails. I love shopping, make-up counters, and sappy romantic comedies. I cry during Hallmark commercials and watching any videos that contain cute babies, dying children, or returning war heroes. So, it's not surprising that I am a huge. A number of years ago I was introduced to the musical, Mamma Mia. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Don't go shar...

Jewels of Encouragement: Snakes and Doves
http://www.jewelsofencouragement.com/2015/08/snakes-and-doves.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Posted by Catrina Bradley. To my Christian friends who are on the other side of a controversial subject (pick one, there are too many these days): I Love You. Agree on a smattering of minor. A (very) few major differences in what we hear God saying through. But that doesn't change the ONE thing, the most IMPORTANT thing, that we who have in common: our realization that the only Way to life, the only Truth of life. Life itself. is Jesus. Are you the Messiah? There always have been...

Jewels of Encouragement: Resurrecting the Cross
http://www.jewelsofencouragement.com/2015/04/resurrecting-cross.html
Friday, April 3, 2015. Posted by Catrina Bradley. For a few weeks now, I've been missing the wooden cross necklace that hangs on the left-hand corner of my bathroom mirror. Even more so the other day when I wanted to wear it with the outfit I had on. I never really bothered to look for it even though I kept noticing it wasn't there. Then that empty corner became the new norm, and I pretty much forgot about it. Posted by Catrina Bradley. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe and don't miss a post!

A Word Fitly Spoken: Now That Was A Surprise
http://debbiege.blogspot.com/2012/07/now-that-was-surprise.html
Sunday, July 8, 2012. Now That Was A Surprise. It didn't take too long to find the ingredients I was looking for, but I really didn't know if they actually were the ingredients I was looking for. I don't do a lot of cooking, so this was really taking a leap in the dark for me. My creation of white rice, chicken and General Tso Stir-Fry Sauce was yummy! That was a mistake. By the time I finished, I was convinced there must have been steam blasting out through my ears! Partaking of this food additive will.

Jewels of Encouragement: June 2015
http://www.jewelsofencouragement.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 24, 2015. There's a Recipe for That! Posted by Maria I. Morgan. The recipe was simple enough. The list of ingredients hinted at the fact that this wouldn't be your ordinary red beans and rice. In addition to garlic, green pepper, and onion, the dish called for some spices that were sure to invigorate the taste buds - red pepper flakes, chili powder, oregano. The item that would set this dish apart? Did you know the Bible gives us a recipe for our speech? The main ingredient we need to inc...

Jewels of Encouragement: Keep Those Running Shoes On
http://www.jewelsofencouragement.com/2015/07/keep-those-running-shoes-on.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. Keep Those Running Shoes On. Posted by Maria I. Morgan. I don't like snakes. Several copperheads have been spotted in our neighborhood, and our neighbor’s dog ran into one of the slithering reptiles, landing the poor animal at the vet with a snake bite. We sure hadn’t expected to see a snake out in the open like that. Fortunately for Joe, he was able to move quickly enough to avoid danger. As a follower of Jesus Christ, the Bible warns me of the dangers I will face in life. Som...
