Yesterday we moved out from a dingy hostel we’ve been at for the last few days, and into a nice apartment hotel downtown. The main reason for moving was that we needed good kitchen facilites, as we wanted to cook up a feast here for Christmas. Beginner’s luck, I guess😉. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! The long, nice drive across. The dista...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. June 19, 2015. And so it ends, nearly a year of travelling is over. And what a year it’s been! Got so many fond memories of places I’ve been and all the amazing people I’ve met. This adventure surely wouldn’t have been nowhere as good without all of you, so thanks for all the fun times we’ve shared. It truly has been a remarkable experience, and with a very healthy refill of new impulses. Going back to Norway, I really look forward to seeing family and ...

Our Mazda is now insured (full coverage), so the car has been used several times for the purpose of going surfing. Here’s an early morning shot before heading off to the beach, the boards are neatly fitting on top. Going to the Pinnacles had a catch though, as there’s like a quadrillion flies out there! Here’s a photo of a couple of happy campers in front of the Mazda...

Spread out in two big hangars, plus a few planes outside, the aviation museum had a vast display of various warbirds from WWII and all the way up to modern times. The impressive exhibition also included some enemy airplanes, such as this Japanese Mitsubishi Zero from WWII. And here’s a Russian MIG, still airborne. Here’s the torpedo room on board the Bowfin. After spending about seven weeks on the west coast, we went over to Texas. And btw, we were able to send our surfboards back to Norway with our friend Audun! 🙂 He flew with Norwegian and they only charged NOK 450 (USD 60) for taking the boards, which we fitted in one boardbag. Awesome! The company was great, but I can’t say the same ...

The road has taken us further up the west coast, into the state of Washington. We’ve enjoyed some solid fun-packed days here now. One of the highlights was a hike we did in the area around Lake Wallace. It was a beautiful sunny day in the forest. Washington is nicknamed the Evergreen State, and the forest in the area we hiked surely lives up to the name. May 7, 2015. A highlight...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: February 2015. February 25, 2015. We’ve made our way to the town Rotorua, known to be a hotspot for heaps of fun activities. Today we tried out one of them: Mountain biking! We enjoyed nice weather as we pedalled through beautiful scenery, as here by a small creek, in which we even spotted a trout! Once on the top came the reward of racing back down again! What a kick in the pants! Riding down is just about as much of a workout as goin...

Yesterday we went to check out a surf spot called Trestles, located about an hour south of LA. Trestles is said to be one of the most consistent spots in all of North America. Therefore, I’m very happy to report that it lived up to our expectations🙂. April 23, 2015. April 16, 2015. I shot this final clip as I was heading back to ...
