Halloween Party! | hello we are the millers
https://hellowearethemillers.wordpress.com/2012/10/29/halloween-party
Hello we are the millers. I was so happy we were still able to have our annual (3rd) Halloween Party this year! And somehow I am getting this blogged about even before actual Halloween! Since I am still on maternity leave, I spaced out the time to prepare and enjoyed most of the preparation (cleaning is never really very fun…). Decorating is always pretty fun though. Owl candle makes its return with some festive decor. I think I found my new favorite fall cupcake combo! And two repeat favs:. IT'S A&...

Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver. Love Does by Bob Goff. He’s like a living pinterest board- he is actually DOING all those cool things we just pin. And he probably wouldn’t be spending time sitting around on pinterest either. That’s precious living time. I’m only 30-something and this book makes me tired! I heard an interview with his on the Relevant Podcast and he just IS energy- I don’t know how some people were given so much! Feed for this Entry. One Thousand Gi...

Lead. | OnebookOnemonth challenge
https://onebookonemonth.wordpress.com/lead
The idea for this challenge came out of my Leadership in Medicine class. We had a speaker who shared the voracity of readership of some of our great leaders. Many read a book a week, or even almost a book a day! Not that we wish to take over the world, but if we can each lead in our own small ways each day, I think we will all be better off. Author Archive for ‘Meghan Miller’. The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba. This is my first post from my phone, hope it works. This was a great book, much better than I expected! I have read some dry long nonfiction about Africa that feels like a duty more than a pleasure. But this book I couldn’t put down! Well unless a child was screaming or something and […]. Author Archive for ‘Jeff Miller’. Through Painted Deserts by Donald Miller. Yikes My last book blog post was over nine months ago. “He ought to be ashamed,” you’re thinking. Yes, I ought. But if any book would be worthy of bringing me back into the blogging world, this would be it. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of wander and wonder. Donald Miller recounts the story of […]. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson | OnebookOnemonth challenge

Forgotten God by Francis Chan. The Happiest Baby on the Block by Dr. Harvey Karp. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. The part of the book about the building of the fair- the architects, planners etc is moderately interesting but also kind of boring. The part of the book about the serial killer is disturbing. It is also written very matter of factly without a lot of suspense that you could maybe put in a mystery-ish type story. Feed for this Entry. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. This Won’t Hur...

Yikes My last book blog post was over nine months ago. “He ought to be ashamed,” you’re thinking. Yes, I ought. Though, perhaps, not the best of Donald Miller’s books, this is another instant personal favorite. I would highly recommend… 5/5 stars. Posted by Jeff Miller). Filed under: autobiographical musings. https://onebookonemonth.wordpress.com/2013/07/22/flight-behavior-by-barbara-kingsolver
Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares, take two. Love Does by Bob Goff. Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. It has been a long time since I posted, and frankly, since I finished a book. I have started several and just not gotten through. Which is probably the main reason I actually finished this one, despite it not being all that great. I figure I have to do about 3/month the next several months to catch up and average out-eeks! 2/5 stars (post by Meghan). Filed under: fiction not otherwise specified.

Newer posts ». Forgotten God by Francis Chan. It was time for some Francis Chan. It’s been awhile since we read Crazy Love. That book was about our relationship with God. This book is about our relationship with the Holy Spirit. I had high hopes going in to it- expected to get my spiritual butt kicked yet again. You can feel Chan’s tension in that throughout the book but somehow it still left me wanting. Maybe (probably) that means I just need more Spirit in my life. Filed under: christian life. So, as I...
