Finding joy in and around the heartache. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. I haven't written directly about depression on this blog for two reasons . My first reason is simply that writing about depression depresses me. Depression is a real mental illness and as such, it takes up way too much of my life already. Finally exhausted, I lay under the scraggly pines and scrunched my face as the high wind whipped snow from the branches overhead. It cascaded over me in refreshing waves of icy lace. Mother Nature was tucking me in for a Winter's nap. Below my own child played on in the snow with the unrivaled energy of children.
