Joyfully, Chas: Dewberry Jam

http://www.joyfullychas.com/2013/07/dewberry-jam.html

Monday, July 15, 2013. Over the weekend my children and 2 of my nieces that were staying with us went out and picked me some of the remaining dewberries. Remember Dewberries are very much like blackberries. They taste a lot like blackberries, but rather than grow up vines, they stay fairly low on the ground and spread out low, and the berries are a bit smaller. We have a good bit growing around on our property, but have missed the blooming a bit this year. 4 cups of mashed dewberries/blackberries. July 1...

Monday, December 26, 2016. Christmas came in the beautiful way it always does. Thankfully though, Christmas will continue to linger around here for at least another week because we still have one Christmas celebration to attend. I hope your Christmas was spent with those you love and hold dear. And that it was very merry and bright. Links to this post. Thursday, December 22, 2016. 5 cups of cornflakes (I use generic and have great results). 1 cup light corn syrup. 1 heaping cup peanut butter. 1 jar (7 oz...

Joyfully, Chas: September 2016

http://www.joyfullychas.com/2016_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 30, 2016. Yesterday was a full-to-overflowing day of good ole fashioned work. Beginning early in the day and going on all-day-long from one task to another. I love getting a lot accomplished though. It makes me happy to be productive. Work is good. I think we need to remember that and teach that more often. I'm so thankful we had a small harvest. Elderberries in my own yard. Woot-woot! Have a wonderful Friday! Links to this post. Thursday, September 29, 2016. These things can be good, o...

Tuesday, January 10, 2017. I have all these things that I keep meaning to post here, and every day I think,. I'll post before bed". And at bedtime I think,. I'll get up and post early.". And sigh. you see that it is a while before I post. Life is full. That's for sure. We have been busy with homeschool lessons resuming again after the long holiday break. It's so nice to have a break, but it's so nice to be on a schedule again. I love schedules, and lists, and all kinds of nerdy stuff like that. Have I ev...

Thursday, March 20, 2014. First Day of Spring. Even the weather people keep whispering about maybe more snow for us next week. I am praying "not". These poor flowers were already snowed on twice. And on the pretty days it was just sooo cold and windy. I'm surprised they look as good as they do. Now don't look closely. You will see there are a lot of gum balls and pine cones and other trashy stuff that needs raking. That will be another day. Saturday, March 8, 2014. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Using Herba...

Honey Hill Farm: Frugal Monday.....

http://honeyhillfarmshan.blogspot.com/2008/06/frugal-monday.html

Monday, June 2, 2008. As today was a Monday and the beginning of June, I took the time to pay all of our bills and plan my menu for the month. Whilst I have reduced our monthly bills just about as far as possible, I had a bit of wiggle room in regards to my menu for June and the cost to feed my family. I am browsing all of my wonderful cookbooks and will be replacing my old cool weather menu with my warm weather concoctions! Pickles and relish are staples in this house and we will need a multitude of pan...

Thursday, April 14, 2011. Golly Gosh it's a Post! Spring has sprung and it has taken me hostage with all its diversions! I have been thinking and pondering and puttering.both inside and outside.poor Dearest, I can think of far more "projects" in one afternoon than he could ever finish in a lifetime! First, our dear old home is in need of a paint job. Now I could just paint it in the existing color scheme and call it a day, but what fun would that be? The historic Hale House.
