Monday, August 29, 2011. For the past several weeks every dream has been the same. Decisions to be made. Projects, endless projects. And begin my day. My dreams were peaceful in the night. Yesterday made all the difference. Worship with great music among people I love. And a quiet afternoon. I read a book. A simple one that made me cry. I went to bed early. Today my heart is full again. The hardest part of being a moderator, for me anyway,. Is having too many things to think about. I wonder if anyone can.

Thursday, April 7, 2011. The body of Christ given for you. The cup of salvation poured out for you. I took a morsel of bread from my female clergy friend. Dipped it in the chalice of juice. Put it in my mouth. Then turned to the friend on my right. Repeating the same words to him. The process of serving one another around the tables. Pushed together in an open square. As we remembered again what unites us. And who stands in our midst. Remembering our unity is important this season. To serve the church.

Thursday, June 30, 2011. The Pricey Hotel with the View. I watched the city put on her jewels this evening. Somehow I landed in this GORGEOUS room. With a million dollar floor to ceiling view. The orangish pink dazzling sunset turned the river the same color. It was nearly the prettiest thing I have ever seen. The lamp posts outlining the parks began to sparkle. So did the bicycles decked with lights. Lights meander all up and down alongside that river. I can hear the band playing 16 stories below me.
