http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Got word a few days ago that Elena will be ours on Sunday June 19th - Father's Day (not the 20th as we had thought) Too cool! We'll leave Shanghai at 8am, arrive in Fuzhou around 10:00 and then we will meet her in the afternoon. More important than that, it's my mum's birthday. (at least I'll be able to remember the day now). 25 days until Gotcha day! Patricia and the gang. Thursday, May 19, 2011. What we woke up to this morning. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.so I won't.

Our Adoption Stories: July 2011
http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 6, 2011. To update this blog, but we've been home for good for 2 days and life is as busy as ever. Elena is doing incredibly well. She is finding her way around the house okay but tripping over all the little steps or toys left on the floor. It's been a crash course for the other kids to always keep their things off the floor. Thank goodness they'll do it for her because they haven't been very good about doing it for me. Want to take bets on how long it lasts? Just one of many different l...

Our Adoption Stories: Time for an update...
http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2011/08/time-for-update.html
Saturday, August 27, 2011. Time for an update. I remember thinking that when we brought Grace home, I couldn't possibly get any busier. When we were deciding to add Elena to the mix, those first crazy days with Grace were long over and I just figured it would work itself out, as it had with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. Wellit's been crazy all right! Patricia and the gang. August 28, 2011 at 8:07 PM. How wonderful for Elena! August 29, 2011 at 6:17 AM. I love our Childrens Hospital! Might come back and visit yo...

Our Adoption Stories: June 2011
http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 30, 2011. The flight was great. The boys behaved like angels (guess they didn't want to see their mothers head spin around backwards and have a total melt down) and Elena hardly made a peep. Now of course, we're all awake and can't sleep, but little by little we can get turned around. Off to finish the laundry and re-pack for the weekend! That's one good thing about being up all night - nothing else to do.). Patricia and the gang. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. We have considerably more luggage t...

Our Adoption Stories: Today I became an aunt again...
http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2011/09/today-i-became-aunt-again.html
Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Today I became an aunt again. My sister got caught in an ugly adoption process from the Ukraine. It was heart wrenching and almost unbelievable. After having spent 6 weeks last summer with the little girl she was going to adopt and that we all fell head over heals in love with, it fell through. She was devastated, as we all were. How does that happen? One just never knows what life is going to bring. Patricia and the gang. September 6, 2011 at 7:02 PM. Seven Helpful Ways to Su...

Our Adoption Stories: Wow, I'm so impressed!
http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2011/10/wow-im-so-impressed.html
Thursday, October 6, 2011. Wow, I'm so impressed! I can't say enough about how well our visit went today. Although it feels a little like information overload, I'm thrilled with the help that's available to Elena IF she needs it. At this point, we'll be having bi-monthly visits with an amazing lady, Janet Soloduk, who is a consultant with OFVIC (Ontario Foundation for Visually Impaired Children) to determine exactly the best way to help Elena develop as any normal sighted child would. I am so grateful!

Our Adoption Stories: October 2010
http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 1, 2010. About 3 months after we brought Grace home, I distinctly remember telling my sister that I was done.done with having more kids. I was, however, feeling a bit overwhelmed at that point. (Whoever said that only women who give birth have postpartum, hasn't done both.). Wellwe've decided to go ahead and bite the bullet for the last time. And yes, this is the last time for sure because China won't let us have anymore (not to mention our line of credit). Our Adoption Stories: Early Intervention for Elena
http://5xmum2b.blogspot.com/2011/10/early-intervention-for-elena.html
Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Early Intervention for Elena. On Thursday we have our first meeting with an early intervention team regarding Elena's vision. Someone from the Ontario Foundation of Visually Impaired Children (OFVIC) and a public health nurse will be coming by the house to do an assessment. I became aware of OFVIC in a backwards kind of way by going directly to the CNIB. As it turns out, although CNIB is an amazing Institute, they deal more often with adults, whereas OFVIC focuses on children.
