Travels With Birds: April 2015
https://travelswithbirds.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 April 2015. Red Morph Eastern Screech Owl (Petit-duc maculé). Some of you may recall that I located an Eastern Screech Owl Megascops asio. Last year on a trail quite close to my house. I last saw the bird sometime in the fall and was never able to relocate it during the winter. Even though the pictures are not fantastic the bird can be seen very clearly and we absolutely do not wish to approach it any closer for fear of interfering with any breeding attempt which may be taking place. This in...

Kathryn Jones Photography: Gull watching in Mount's Bay, Penzance.
http://kathrynjonesphotography.blogspot.com/2014/02/gull-watching-in-mounts-bay-penzance.html
Sunday, 9 February 2014. Gull watching in Mount's Bay, Penzance. We started our morning's gull watching at Marazion. The sea was crashing in on the beach and the wind and kite surfers were doing somersaults over the waves! The wind was very strong and the sand was blasting the side of the car making us very reluctant to get out! Next we headed to Penzance to see the Surf Scoter which had made friends with an Eider! All the pictures below are of the Kumlien's Gull. 12 February 2014 at 13:08. I hope that y...

Tony's Photo Blog: Weekend away
http://tcphotosdotnet.blogspot.com/2015/06/weekend-away.html
Tuesday, June 9, 2015. I didn't have far to go to see some birds, with a pair of inquisitive Singing Honeyeaters coming close, closer, and sometimes too close. There was also a regular Nankeen Kestrel hunting between us and the beach. On the boat ramp there were the usual. Pelicans and Silver Gulls, and on the local beach, Pacific G. Ulls and a single Hooded Plover. June 9, 2015 at 10:51 PM. Looks like a great spot to visit for a while. June 10, 2015 at 8:32 PM. August 14, 2015 at 7:56 PM.

Tony's Photo Blog: June 2013
http://tcphotosdotnet.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 29, 2013. This morning dawned bright, but chilly, with the mercury struggling to get above freezing. But Kobe and I still took our usual early morning stroll round the wetlands. The moon has almost waned to third quarter, and it wasn't till I got home that I noticed the Galah sneaking into shot! It was a bit misty, but this didn't bother the ducks, and the heavy dew made for some nice "arty" shots of the reeds and shrubs around Kaurna Wetland Park. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Other common birds...

Tony's Photo Blog: Spring birding
http://tcphotosdotnet.blogspot.com/2014/10/spring-birding.html
Friday, October 24, 2014. I managed to find a couple of hours for a quick trip out today. I birded between St Kilda and Port Gawler, just to the north of Adelaide. It was very quiet to start with, but I did happen on this little story. Once upon a time there were three White-winged Fairy-wrens, Daddy, Mummy and little baby. At Port Gawler things got better as there were a few waders about. Resident Red-kneed Dotterels and a few migrant Sharp-tailed Sandpipers. October 24, 2014 at 7:36 PM. Nice ones, Tony!

Travels With Birds: A Requiem for a Wetland
https://travelswithbirds.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-requiem-for-wetland.html
Friday, 10 July 2015. A Requiem for a Wetland. Many regular readers of my blog will have seen the numerous posts I have made about the wonderful little wetland at Creekside Church. Here are a few idyllic scenes from that wetland. Tree Swallow, Barn Swallow, Eastern Kingbird. Barn Swallow, Red-winged Blackbird. Furthermore the whole operation smacks of deceit. The pond was drained on a weekend when minimal public scrutiny is likely. The leaders of the church turned on the tap and walked away, with...And w...
