JRandSue: August 2014

http://jrandsue.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, 24 August 2014. On Friday we decided to go to the area around Goonhilly, what a disappointment. The 2 pools on the moor just past Goonhilly NR, which are normally swarming with. Dragonflies had been dredged and drained. Was it really necessary, surely it could have waited until the winter. We moved on to Windmill Farm and although the big pool was drying up we did see. Lots of wildlife. What a great place. COMMON DARTER, old fem. We were taking a shot of the female Common Darter when we noticed.

JRandSue: June 2014

http://jrandsue.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Friday, 27 June 2014. WE GOT THE BLUES. We went to Collard Hill for the Large Blue and managed to see 5 or 6 individuals. This is a first for us having failed on several previous attempts. A little disappointed that we couldn't get a better picture of them with open wings but they rarely bask with them open. We also went to a fantastic reserve called Westhay Moor hoping for Hairy Dragonfly, we saw a few but could get no pictures. Another one for next year. Friday, June 27, 2014. JRandSue: LAST FROM BULGARIA.

http://jrandsue.blogspot.com/2015/08/last-from-bulgaria.html

Saturday, 8 August 2015. This is the last of our pictures from Bulgaria. It is mostly insects which we hope we have identified correctly. The first picture is an Ant-lion, the first we have seen. They can grow very large and look like a Dragonfly when flying. The Mammoth Wasps are huge but apparently. Harmless, didn't put it to the test though. Saturday, August 08, 2015. 8 August 2015 at 21:35. That is a stack of excellent images, must have been a interesting trip. 9 August 2015 at 08:29. You have found ...

http://jrandsue.blogspot.com/2015/07/bulgarias-butterflies.html

Sunday, 26 July 2015. Here are a few shots of some of the Butterflies we saw in Bulgaria. Not sure how many species we saw in total but somewhere around 75-80 would not be far out. There were many types of Fritillary and as we all know, many look very similar with. Their wings open and totally different with them closed so that was a challenge. QUEEN of SPAIN FRITILLARY. http://jrandsue.blogspot.com/2015/05/cuckoo-at-buttermilk-hill.html

Thursday, 14 May 2015. CUCKOO AT BUTTERMILK HILL. There were 2 Cuckoos at Buttermilk Hill yesterday. In my haste to locate one after I heard it call, I nearly. Neck by stepping in a Rabbit hole and falling over. Today my knee looks like a cricket ball. Well worth it though as they seem to get fewer every year. Thursday, May 14, 2015. 14 May 2015 at 19:16. Lovely set of shots of a superb bird. 14 May 2015 at 19:51. Great sighting of the Cuckoo. Enjoy your day! 14 May 2015 at 19:52. 14 May 2015 at 19:56.

Travels With Birds: April 2015

https://travelswithbirds.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, 30 April 2015. Red Morph Eastern Screech Owl (Petit-duc maculé). Some of you may recall that I located an Eastern Screech Owl Megascops asio. Last year on a trail quite close to my house. I last saw the bird sometime in the fall and was never able to relocate it during the winter. Even though the pictures are not fantastic the bird can be seen very clearly and we absolutely do not wish to approach it any closer for fear of interfering with any breeding attempt which may be taking place. This in...

Kathryn Jones Photography: Gull watching in Mount's Bay, Penzance.

http://kathrynjonesphotography.blogspot.com/2014/02/gull-watching-in-mounts-bay-penzance.html

Sunday, 9 February 2014. Gull watching in Mount's Bay, Penzance. We started our morning's gull watching at Marazion. The sea was crashing in on the beach and the wind and kite surfers were doing somersaults over the waves! The wind was very strong and the sand was blasting the side of the car making us very reluctant to get out! Next we headed to Penzance to see the Surf Scoter which had made friends with an Eider! All the pictures below are of the Kumlien's Gull. 12 February 2014 at 13:08. I hope that y...

Tony's Photo Blog: Weekend away

http://tcphotosdotnet.blogspot.com/2015/06/weekend-away.html

Tuesday, June 9, 2015. I didn't have far to go to see some birds, with a pair of inquisitive Singing Honeyeaters coming close, closer, and sometimes too close. There was also a regular Nankeen Kestrel hunting between us and the beach. On the boat ramp there were the usual. Pelicans and Silver Gulls, and on the local beach, Pacific G. Ulls and a single Hooded Plover. June 9, 2015 at 10:51 PM. Looks like a great spot to visit for a while. June 10, 2015 at 8:32 PM. August 14, 2015 at 7:56 PM.

Tony's Photo Blog: June 2013

http://tcphotosdotnet.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 29, 2013. This morning dawned bright, but chilly, with the mercury struggling to get above freezing. But Kobe and I still took our usual early morning stroll round the wetlands. The moon has almost waned to third quarter, and it wasn't till I got home that I noticed the Galah sneaking into shot! It was a bit misty, but this didn't bother the ducks, and the heavy dew made for some nice "arty" shots of the reeds and shrubs around Kaurna Wetland Park. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Other common birds...

Tony's Photo Blog: Spring birding

http://tcphotosdotnet.blogspot.com/2014/10/spring-birding.html

Friday, October 24, 2014. I managed to find a couple of hours for a quick trip out today. I birded between St Kilda and Port Gawler, just to the north of Adelaide. It was very quiet to start with, but I did happen on this little story. Once upon a time there were three White-winged Fairy-wrens, Daddy, Mummy and little baby. At Port Gawler things got better as there were a few waders about. Resident Red-kneed Dotterels and a few migrant Sharp-tailed Sandpipers. October 24, 2014 at 7:36 PM. Nice ones, Tony!

Travels With Birds: A Requiem for a Wetland

https://travelswithbirds.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-requiem-for-wetland.html

Friday, 10 July 2015. A Requiem for a Wetland. Many regular readers of my blog will have seen the numerous posts I have made about the wonderful little wetland at Creekside Church. Here are a few idyllic scenes from that wetland. Tree Swallow, Barn Swallow, Eastern Kingbird. Barn Swallow, Red-winged Blackbird. Furthermore the whole operation smacks of deceit. The pond was drained on a weekend when minimal public scrutiny is likely. The leaders of the church turned on the tap and walked away, with...And w...

JR and Summer

Saturday, October 2, 2010. This week JR and I celebrated our birthdays! I turned 24 and he turned 26! When I got to work my co-workers sang to me as I was walking in and as I walked into my office I was greeted by balloons and flowers, then to top it all off they treated me to lunch! I work with some great people! After work JR and I headed over to Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa and just relaxed! I've never been to a spa like that before.so relaxing! We could have stayed there all day!
