Greetings from corn country! Musings from the Midwest. Thursday, March 22, 2012. Well, as most, if not all, of you know we are expecting a little one in August! I have to say that this was the hardest secret I have ever had to keep seeing as we knew right after Thanksgiving and went through Christmas without telling anyone! I have to say it nearly killed me. Yesterday we went for our first ultrasound which was amazing! Here is a sneak peak at our little BOY! So excited for you guys!

Greetings from corn country! Musings from the Midwest. Thursday, August 25, 2011. First week as a Professor! Monday was Dr. J's first day of teaching! I am so proud of him and all that he has accomplished! I know he will be awesome! I couldn't resist taking a picture of his first day of school! On Sunday I made him a cake to wish him good luck on his first day. It was decorated with a fondant chalkboard with his classes written in 'chalk' (aka buttercream frosting)! Purdue is lucky to have him on staff!

Greetings from corn country! Musings from the Midwest. Friday, May 11, 2012. 2012 Y Dance Recital. This past weekend was my last Y Dance recital. The girls did great and I am going to miss them so much! The theme was a newspaper this year so each performance represented a section of the newspaper. Here is the beginner tap class at dress rehearsal. They danced to Bushel and a Peck and represented the farm report. Here is the intermediate class. They danced to Freeze Frame and represented photography.

Greetings from corn country! Musings from the Midwest. Monday, July 18, 2011. This summer has definitely been crazy travelling year! We went to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons in June and then not even 2 weeks later we were on our way to Mexico for a week of rest and relaxation. Since we took so many pictures I will dedicate each place to its own post. First up.Yellowstone! I seriously don't even know how to start describing Yellowstone. It was the most amazing place I have ever been! Almost doesn't look real!

Sep 30, 2012. My mom thinks that Mila looks like me as a baby. I guess only time will tell. While we are both brunettes with blue eyes, she does NOT have my ears. That is a good thing! Jun 13, 2013. It's been a long time away from blogging. Time to catch you up. I have slacked on the blogging, but not on the picture takings so hold onto your pants and enjoy the ride. So in the last 4 months the Riggs' family moved from Louisville, KY (sniff) to Dothan, AL (where? Krista and Dan started new jobs, the girls started a new school, and we have started to settle down in our new little town. We have enjoyed visits from Susan and Nanny Pam and Bubba Mike. My office (It's pretty bare right now).

Dec 18, 2012. Mila's 4 month stats on 12-12-12. Mila's pediatrician's appointment was on 12-12-12. She weighed 12lbs, 12oz. She was the talk of the entire office, seriously. Length: 23.25 inches. At her four month appointment, Emma was 2 inches longer and 3 pounds heavier (Emma is 100th percentile for height and weight). We are also fighting the same right sided preference that Emma had; really. Trying to avoid the helmet. 1 babbling (or battle cry as it sounds like at 5am). Decorating the Christmas tree.
