Recently I have been experimenting with painting small floral pieces as a occasional respite from landscape painting. I have never been enamored of stiff looking still lifes, but I find the randomness of flowers in nature intriguing. Can you see the organic swirl, almost "S" shape leading the eye to the flower in this painting? Or the spirals in this one. William Worcester Fine Arts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What co...

Beyond the usual necessities of life, we live out our days needing nothing more than a box of paints, some brushes and something to paint on. Perfection does not exist in Art.

Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Oil Painting Demonstration at Fermi Lab Art Gallery. This is the demo painting, I kind of like it's looseness. It allowed me to show some of my painterly tricks such as: painting with a rag, wiping out branches with a q-tip, and smearing paint on with a palette knife. Some photos from the demo. No, I wasn't doing my Michael Jackson impression, the glove was to keep paint off my hands so I wouldn't leave my fingerprints all over Fermi Lab. William Worcester Fine Arts.

William Worcester Artist: How to paint a plein air oil painting (at least how I do it)
http://williamworcester.blogspot.com/2011/07/how-to-paint-plein-air-oil-painting-at.html
Sunday, July 17, 2011. How to paint a plein air oil painting (at least how I do it). This week I had a wonderful day painting the Fox River. I was standing in the above scene right on the grassy bank shown above. Not shown is the ducks, geese, and fishermen hanging around. I unpacked my French Easel (which I use instead of my Open Box M pochade box when I want to paint at a larger size than 11" x 14".). Next is a close-up view of my palette:. Here I've added the rest of the color and added some detail.
