But if you can't go skiing or snowboarding, it's enough to stay there for only three days. On the top of Whistler mountain. The sun wasn't shining, but I still had to blink. An influx of wealthy immigrants from Hong Kong (that's why Hancouver) spurred the wave of pale blue and green condominium towers that went up in the city center in the mid-1990s, lending Vancouver its nickname 'City of Glass'. Mundane on a cloudy day, it becomes an exotic glittering otherworld when the sun shines. Enjoy the view from the darkness into the light. Skyscraper want to touch the blue sky. Two buildings in one. It was snowing - beautiful.

Klein Andrea auf grosser Reise. Samstag, 5. April 2008. University of British Columbia. One day before Remo's arrival, we went to UBC. It is a fantastic place to hike and walk along the beaches near Vancouver. After a surviving walk through mud and forest we finally arrived back at the busy streets. Daniel and Guido have seen a snake(black and yellow stripes) and we saw a lot of naked men at the Wreck Beach (wow, amazing, all over 50 years old - fantastic). So many prawns - but dead ones. Remo - my cousin.

Klein Andrea auf grosser Reise. Dienstag, 1. April 2008. Stanley Park - Bycicle tour. The first day since Daniel is here, the sun was shining. Vancouver turns into a wonderful city when the liquid sunshine (called rain) disappears. And a swore to Daniel the first day when it's sunny we'll go to Stanley Park. It was great and I was fascinated as never before. 1-Speed-Cruiser (Ruecktrittbremse und 1 Gang) - funny. Kind of Harley Davidson. Beach and high buildings. Lions Gate Bridge - a Vancouver icon.
