Dr Rollin Stott MA MBBCh MRCP DipAvMed. Dr Rollin Stott qualified in medicine in 1963 from Cambridge University and in 1970-71 studied engineering applied to medicine at Imperial College. He currently works as a trusted expert for QinetiQ plc and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. He gained the Diploma in Aviation Medicine in 1985 and has been a CAA Aeromedical Examiner since 1990, working as an external AME for British Airways (1998-2011) and since 2011 in independent practice.

I have been an aeromedical examiner (AME) since 1990 and have spent the majority of my career working in aerospace medicine, with a particular interest in spatial disorientation in flight. I am based in northern Hampshire, just off the A31 between Alton and Farnham, and well situated for pilots flying out of the many nearby airfields such as Farnborough, Blackbushe, and Lasham.

If you have experienced disorientation in flight, then I would be very interested to hear your story, something that you may remember very vividly! With your permission, I would like to use such accounts of disorientation incidents in lectures that I give to pilots and to doctors who are studying aviation medicine.
