Friday, September 20, 2013. Thank you, Tamora Pierce! Best selling author of Young Adult Fiction, animal lover, crazy lady and creator of magical universes just bought one of my framed limited edition prints: Old Pueblo, Ranchos de Taos, NM. - Print No. 1 of 200. I delivered it to her yesterday. So now, by virtue of that sale, and my longstanding relationship with that other famous author/friend/client/universe creator Bruce Coville, I'm also kinda famous - by proxy. Read about Tammy, and her books here:.

Jerry Russell - I&FA Articles: Grammar Policing is fun!
http://jerryrussell-ifaarticles.blogspot.com/2011/08/grammar-policing-is-fun.html
Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Grammar Policing is fun! An exchange of posts from Yahoo today about the Perseid Meteor Shower. I have to admit, I took the discussion way off topic, but it was amusing . . . for me. Read the Perseid Meteor article on Yahoo. My screen name is Knotboy. It all started with this:. I seen three satellites and one meteor early this morning. I SAW three satellites and one meteor early this morning. It's called the english language. Learn it. Saw* or I have seen*. Furthermore, Phyl and ...

Friday, February 22, 2013. Very simple 3D model I made in Strata just to test this out. If it works, I'll upload more models. I use 3D software for technical illustration projects and sometimes to create my own reference for digital paintings. If you have the right graphics processor, you should be able to rotate and zoom the model above. Your graphics card needs to suport WebGL. (My MacBookPro does). Posted by JERRY RUSSELL. Jerry Russell • illustration: Calculating Gallery Pricing
http://jerryrussell-illustration.blogspot.com/2014/04/calculating-gallery-pricing.html
Sunday, April 27, 2014. Or anyone who sells through a gallery or business that takes a commission). Here's a formula you can use to price your work so that you end up with what you want for it once the gallery takes its commission. Let's say you want to make $325 on a painting, and the gallery takes a 40% commission on the sale. If you price it at $325, once the gallery takes their 40%, ($130) you end up with $195.00 - Nowhere near $325. So, how would you end up with $325 after the sale? X ÷ r = p. Of co...

Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Space Cadet Illustration, Step-by-step. Space Cadet: by Robert Heinlein. This is another cover painting for a Full Cast Audio package. This is the finished cover art. Concept sketch & Comp. This is the rough concept; the initial sketch, and the comp (comprehensive) that I presented to the client. They liked the concept, so I started exploring composition and lighting. Here's another angle, which I kind of liked. We decided we wanted the boy facing more toward the viewer. A clo...

Jerry Russell - I&FA Articles: ReserveAmerica-dot-duh.
http://jerryrussell-ifaarticles.blogspot.com/2008/08/camp-swampy.html
Monday, August 25, 2008. I don't know about you, but when I reserve a camp site, I kinda like to know if it's near the water or under water. One is preferable to the other. However, if you call ReserveAmerica-dot-whatever to get information about a particular site - is it in the woods? Is it near the bathrooms? Is it located on a haunted Indian burial site? The call goes something like this:. Yes, hello, I'd like some information about a camp site, please.". Sigh O.K. what.". We were quite optimistic.

Jerry Russell - I&FA Articles: haiku
http://jerryrussell-ifaarticles.blogspot.com/2009/10/haiku.html
Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Once in a while, I'm inspired to write a haiku. It's usually in the middle of a project, or yard work, or some such thing. Most follow the traditional 5-7-5 format. Here are some. Where is my green lawn? Maples shed their autumn leaves. Set my yard ablaze. Red leaves, yellow, brown. Blisters forming on gloved hands. Fallen leaves pile up. Woodpecker watches, chirping. Hey, bird, grab a rake. Dioecious she, me. Old age rises in the east. Alas, her drupe droop.

Saturday, March 19, 2011. Here's a little tool I fashioned for scoring paper/cardboard prior to folding it. It makes for a clean, precise fold. Cut off the end of a paper clip and clamp it in the business end of an X-acto handle. Use this tool to score along the fold lines of your project. Place a piece of mat board underneath the paper you're scoring to get a deeper score. Posted by JERRY RUSSELL. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). VISIT MY FINE ART BLOG.
