The Cold Ride or The Stupid Test. I’m sitting here drinking a sloppy mug of coco with drip stains on the side. Return of the Timeless Friend. So for the last seven months I’ve been toiling away six-days-a-week at a crummy little English school way the hell out in the middle of nowhere. I teach six class hours a day, I think that’s more than just about anyone teaches. My friend who teaches English in Shikoku recently estimated that I work 90 more days a year than him. I was bitter. He was amused. People never pity an incessant whiner, do they? So enough with excuses and enough with complaining. Here goes!

Cast bronze with patina. Completed early fall 2008. Cast bronze with various patinas. Completed spring 2008. I made these cards while being a participant observer during a program called Arts in Medicine. I was required to attend, being enrolled in a class by the same name. It was a beautiful experience. This piece consists of two separately cast and still unconnected bronze pieces, colored with India ink and a combination of oil pastels and Dorland's wax medium. Completed: December 2008.
